I wanted to share a weird thing that’s been happening to me in Valorant.
I bought the Kuronami Vandal because I loved the design and thought it would be fun to use in my matches. But every time I equip it, the match changes completely
Teammates keep asking me to drop it.
If I don’t, some get annoyed or passive-aggressive.
Even enemies sometimes focus on killing me just to grab it.
Instead of feeling good about the skin I paid for, I feel like I’m running a free rental shop every time I buy a Vandal in-game. It’s exhausting.
I explained all this to Riot, hoping they’d at least acknowledge the problem or offer ideas. Their answer? Basically “just unequip it.”
That was frustrating because it didn’t address the fact that something I paid for is making my games worse, not better. It feels like there’s no real solution if a cosmetic becomes a liability in matches.
In other games like Fortnite, your skin is yours, no one can pressure you mid-match to give it up. In Valorant, the system almost encourages it. I think they should at least have an “Owner Mode” toggle so only the buyer can use the skin.
Has anyone else had a skin actually make their games less fun?
