In valorant.
I saw this guy play valorant multiple times. He had no clue what he was doing and even months after he first played it he didn’t get what some agents do
Its not about success in csgo only, some players are just more predestined for Val, like kennys

"he didn’t get what some agents do" that's because he barely plays the game, probably only a few times on stream in a few months and that's it. the guy is known as the GOAT for a reason, maybe it'll take a while but if he commits to VALORANT I could easily see him being one of the best, if not the best, after a year

I have a question, not saying you are wrong but why do you think he wouldn’t be the top player in Valorant if he choose to switch. My personal opinion is he is undoubtedly the best cs/fps player at the given moment. Has been for a few years. However, he isn’t the most mechanically skilled player. I think what sets him apart from others is the work he puts in and his work ethic. He has the mindset and that’s why he is the best and I think he has a good chance of being the best in Valorant.

Reminds me of like a baseball, football, hockey player etc who may not be the most naturally talented or athletic but has the work ethic and puts in the work to be the best.

Personally I think he'd be in the top10, but I dont think he'd be the equivalent of how good he is in CS. I feel the skill ceiling in valorant will limit him, more than anything. In CS he's the best, at that high skill ceiling. In val the ceiling is lower, so it could help others get there.

Think it was s0m who said on stream a few weeks ago, or a month or so. He mentioned how Val is a lot more fun than cs, because everyone is demons because of the skill ceiling. Where as in CS he'd stomp people convincingly.
Albeit it was regarding ranked, but the point still stands regarding skill ceilings.

I could be wrong, we'll never know. Dont think s1mple would ever leave cs. He's the best at the game, and has been consistantly for the past 6 years or so. Zywoo is right there with him, contesting him for the No.1 spot. Just dont think either would be No.1 in Val. top 10/5, yeah. best, nope.

#48
Larry

Frags

I can agree that the skill gap is dramatically lowered in Valorant compared to CS meaning that players who are insanely skilled might not be able to play to their full potential in Valorant. Nerfed you could say.

Regarding what S0m said, I see what he is saying but I think deep down every player would rather have a higher skill gap and ceiling that sets them apart from other players. I think casual players yes I can see why it’s more fun but if you take the game serious i think majority of the players would like and have more fun with higher skill gap/ceiling.

If you know you’re better than someone, why would you want to be nerfed.

Idk growing up playing sports it’s always the mentality I had growing up. I want to be the best or at least try to being the best because I know I could.

#53

With the s0m thing, he said he enjoyed it because it's not a 1 way stomp. Some people get bored of constant stomps, and grow tired of MM. However that's a person on person basis.

With the s0m thing, it's the same with what shroud said before. He said CS is easy when playing it, but Val is harder. The higher the skill ceiling, the larger the gap you'll have with the pro players, from normal in MM. It's probably the only reason I like val MM, is the skill ceiling isn't crazy high, and shit can get chaotic (I find it really bored if I go on a constant streak of stomping on people without struggling. I vibe with close and long matches).

competitively, I want a high skill ceiling. However you can't really have the two. Can either have high ceiling, or low. We have low, which both sucks, but makes PUB games a bit more enjoyable for me.

#55
Larry

From my personal experience, there are a lot of more one way stomps in Valorant than in CS. It feels like teams always seem to be one sided in Valorant. One team is always a lot better than the other. I do agree its a person basis but I still believe that if you are the better player and you know you are, it would be frustrating to know you're being nerfed for the more casual side. It gets quite annoying when you see players who you know you are better than but running 1 tap you because its valorant.

Regarding shroud, I don't hold his opinion very tightly because of him constantly changing it. I think Valorant is easier than CS in almost every way. The game is dumbed down a lot towards the more casual base. I just prefer cs because its more balanced. Valorant is fun to play with friends. The most fun I had on Valorant was when the game first came out and I was 5 stacking with friends. Ever since that was taken away in the higher ranks I've had less motivation to play.

#56
Raevus
0

I think with shroud, and s0ms opinion. It's more from a streamer perspective, and playing pubs. From competing in other games, and in sports irl. PUB matches I feel should be more fun, than one way stomps.
For the comp side, I'll still take CS over val. imo CS is a ar better game when it comes to the top percentile of the game scene. Val is just more fun to mess around in.
I do dislike how the dumbed down a lot of aspects compared to CS. However, it is what it is. I enjoy val more right now in terms of playing, than cs.

but yeah, s0m and shroud both know they're better than 99.9% of players in the game, they just said CS was easier, as you can easily outshine good players, due to the skill ceiling. going 12-12 against some fortnite kids in a ranked match, just makes things a bit more interesting. We've also seen in comp, that it's a whole different monster, given performances and how they play.
Ranked I feel is better to play/watch in val than CS. comp is cs over val.

With 5 stacking, I agree. I'd prefer 3 stack, and 2 stack. No soloQ, or a soloQ playlist. The beginning of the act, I had themost fun I've had in over a year. PLayed 3 stack with two friends, for around 7 matches. Then got to d3 and had to duo to imm, which was pretty meh.
Wish I could 3/5 stack again, whilst not spending an hour for 3rr.

Am I tripping or has the flags changed since we lasted talked lol. I think from a streamer perspective I would agree that closer matches would be better entertainment for the viewers than pub stomps but at the same time the majority of the streamers are watched because people want to watch them destroy. Back in CS, shroud had 10k viewers while still on c9 because he would make everyone look like bots in pugs and fpl/rank s. Back when being A+ on esea was the real deal. Same reason why he blew up on pubg because of him just destroying everyone.

As you said, growing up playing sports. We are competitors and we love to compete and win. It is nice to have a curb stomp here and there because it is nice to not be stressed but close games are more fun. Growing up on sports, the close games were always the most stressful but most satisfying because typically it was well played from both teams.

I do agree that the dumbed down aspects really is a turn off for me. Like I said, nothing is more frustrating than being destroyed by a player over and over again that you know you're better than. Like for me, it would be like in baseball striking out or grounding/flying out against a pitcher you know you can tee off on or missing an easy shot in football that you know you should have scored a goal on.

Regarding what you said about shroud and s0m again. They are better than majority of the players yes, s0m more than shroud. I think it's not that CS is easier but CS is a lot more punishing and easier to punish players for making mistakes as where in Valorant, you can get rewarded for being dumb. And yes It is a shame you can't 5 stack and the fact you gain no elo sucks as well. I remember waiting 20 mins for a game to get 5 rr. The game is most fun when played with friends but oh well. These posts are longer than I originally intended.

#71
Raevus

Yeah, this has gone on for so long lol. I always end up making threads far much longer than they need to be xD

Flags look the same to me, but I might be lost as fuck lol

The dumbed down aspects, I dislike, but dont mind. I get frustrated when I die to someone mid jump with an AK, or phantom. It's unfortunate, somewhat tilting. In the end, I've ran into more bullshit on games like cs, where I've been mid jump no scoped from T spawn while I was jumping across a smoked double doors on dust2. Shit happens. In mid to lower elo, the skill ceiling doesn't matter. My issue with the skill ceiling, is at the top level.

You're right with Cs being more punishing. It's why I always enjoyed the comp side of Cs, but never the fpl/pug streams from pro players. Same reason why I couldn't watch shroud that much, until he came back from mixer(before mixer he had the personality of a snail, but great gameplay), and somehow gained a personality because he can just play whatever he wants not.
Watching pubs and playing pubs in a game where you dont 16-3 or 16-8 opponents while dropping 30-40, is honestly a lot more fun. In comp, go for the stomps. I'm more than happy with a 13-0 in an event, compared to a 13-10 or 13-11. That shit wears you down if you're playing consecutive matches in one day.
Pubs, fuck 13-0s. that shit makes me bored out of my mind if every match i'm winning, is a 13-4, 13-5, etc. It's fun in the beginning, but if it lasts weeks. I tend to just get bored and go onto the next subject. It happened to me on console, over and over. Went from CoD, to tlou, to uncharted, to killzone, to gears of war, halo, etc.
It's why I wish I tried to get into the comp side of either of those games, as what drives me is playing against better people and seeing where I could improve from my mistakes.

It's why I enjoy tac fps games after coming to pc. There are people who've spent tens of thousands of hours in the genre, and I find it so much fun to play against better people. Shit drives me to improve, and I love it. playing against people I know I'm better than, shit is just demotivating.

Sorry, I meant to reply yesterday but never got the notification lol.

I get randomness occurs in games with running or jumping shots. I just see it happen way more in Valorant than in CS whether it happens to me, my teammate, or YouTube/stream. It’s pretty much at a point where it’s not even random anymore and just considered a norm.

Regarding shroud, used to watch him a lot back in c9. Dude was racking up viewers back then and only blew up more. With that being said, I can’t stand the guy. Dude is just a brick wall who changes his opinion every two seconds. Dude has been shitting on cs ever since he retired. Calls it dead, then he said cs is harder, then he said cs is easier, like buddy make up your mind. Cant watch big streamers. Only person who I don’t understand who people watch more is pokimane.

S1mple is from cs:go mens, I don't see the future where Sasha destroys El Diablo in rifling. Valorant is different game in terms of shooting and utility usage so you need time * time to surpass all these decent pros who grind the game 10h day for 2 years. It's also almost impossible cuz s1mple is GOAT in cs, has 50k viewer base, hes every year major contender, and it's his comfortable zone, no one like him will switch to Valorant, time is already gone. In Valorant he would need to grind a lot to surpass all these pros, lose his cs audience, build a new contender team etc. So Sahsa will only destroy diamonds low immortals one time in 6 month when he will stream Valorant, no more.
