yes, we know that from the tourneys, but high level teams have been getting destroyed by abx in scrims, even though we know that gambit is good, scrim results dont always translate is what im saying here. I dont know if u are trying to judge v1 from this, or are pointing out that we should watch out for gambit

Daps: "XSET is winning iceland"
Ethan: "You obviously haven't scrimmed Andbox"
Crashies: "Oh we have, trust me they are CLOSE CONTENDERS"

#29

ironically enough, all of those teams and players mentioned are not in contention for iceland.

yea, but Gambit were beaten be teams like FPX and Fnatic,
FPX they beat them a 2nd time and Fnatic were improving so fast that they are arguable the best team in EU rn with the new roster while Heretics were on a downward trend
so their scrim results do translate to officials unlike the turkish teams

Well... ABX beat SEN 2-0 only to lose to them 2-1 later in challengers 2. The opposite is true for GMB/FPX in EMEA playoffs.

#20

but ABX only looked good against SEN that one time, and SEN didnt do that good at the start of the tournament

fpx looked horrible against liquid and gambit the second time, nothing like normal as well

FPX choked against liquid, not against Gambit too, all the individuals looked good, except shadow team flashed a few times on icebox

I dislike the fact that Gambit only collected 45 pts in this Stage 2, but Fnatic / Liquid are attending Iceland and probably will manage to earn 300-400 pts each. The skill gap between these 3 is very small, and such a huge pts difference ruins it all.

It gives me a feeling that Gambit will have to compete in Last Chance qualifier... Unless these 2 above fail at Stage 3 and don't advance to Berlin, but Gambit does it.

dw they can absolutely smash the last chance. they are incredible

they also beat fpx after only vsing them once in a match. look how fast they adapt to teams. i would suspect they could beat fnatic if they played again

Gambit deserves a spot in champions 100%. How many teams will qualify tho? I feel like such a big tourney should have more than 10 teams.

Champions has 16 teams.

thank u. I hope they value merit over diversity. It's sad to see teams traveling across the globe just to get massacred

#12

No they don't value merit
EMEA gets 3 slots at Champs, Asia gets 5 and South America gets 4

Maybe if EMEA teams will outclass everyone else, they will give us more slots for next season, but this one is set in stone I guess

Welp looks like we will have to "enjoy" watching some Paper Rex and Furia Esports instead of Gambit, FPX, G2, Guild etc

wtf they already leaked the number of slots per region. Where are they going to get 5 teams from Asia? Sentinels 4v5ed japans best team, V1 scrimmed Nuturn, and Zellsis said they were alright because he "didn't want to be mean". Like that tournament should be about the best teams in the world, they are literally making NA and EU challengers more competitive than worlds, it doesn't make sense.

https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021/Champions

Just need to make Champions 20 teams, with 3 more slots for EMEA and 1 more for NA, and leave Asia / South America untouched

NA get 3 too.... South America should get 3 and EMEA should get 4 or maybe 5 with SA getting 2

Actually yes, they've released. Champions will have:

By circuit points:
NA: 2 slots
EMEA: 2 slots
BR: 2 slots
LATAM: 1 slot
Japan: 1 slot
SEA: 2 slots
KR: 1 slot

by Last Chance Qualify:
NA: 1 slot
EMEA: 1 slot
ASIA: 1 slot
SA: 1 slot

by winning Masters 3 Berlim:
1 slot for the winner

also why do you seperate asia in the circuit points but you dont seperate EMEA????

Don't forget about last chance qualifier. The actual team distribution will be:

NA: 3
EMEA: 3
South America: 4 (Including Brazil)
Asia: 5

Makes no sense. Take at least 1 spot from Asia and give it to TR/CIS.

there's also such thing as scrim god and not doing shit when it matters. Just look at TSM in league of legends worlds. They are the scrim god, winnining against teams like SKT, but we all know how it went in the end when in games that really matter

bbl were trash, fpx had a bad day. (not to discredit gambit i honesly hope they make champs or masters 3 at least)

BBL was the only turkish team that performed. They almost threw liquid in the lower bracket, where they would've faced Gambit

No this would end up verry badly,
Because if you think about it every region is getting stronger with playing each other,
competing in Emea with EU, CİS and TR teams is more beneficial for everyone,
so Emea is good right now but their Emea slots can be increased(Not sure about TR toght they got destroyed in last emea except SMB).

no, there are only 4 much known teams in CIS SUB region no competition for Gambit.
It will just decrease the skill if not many teams are there to face.
