Why are NA players so arrogant?

I constantly see statements from players or people like Seangares saying in a stream that NA will have easy games in Iceland and that TenZ is the best player in the world, why is that? I as a person who watch a lot of scenery games like EU and BR every week and sometimes KR, can't see NA superior to these regions at all, the only plausible explanation for statements like this is that the people in question are not watching games from other regions and have no idea how the game is played outside NA. Honestly, for those who follow at least EU with good frequency, do you really think TenZ is better than CNED, Nukkye, or Scream? I am not even quoting the top players from other regions for comparison purposes, for me correlating Asuna and TenZ with these players is almost crazy to be honest. It seems that in almost every game the same story is repeated, NA appears as a very hyped region because it has a lot of investment in huge eSports and marketing organizations, but after the first international tournaments it returns to the meme region that has always been where the lack of achievements on the international stage do not justify the amount that has been invested in the teams, as was the case with LoL and CSGO. So this is what will happen, NA players are underestimating other regions and will be surprised in Iceland, I would not doubt if Sentinels missed series for teams like LATAM, Japan, and BR, the whole world knows how NA plays and I think that NA does not study other regions in the same way. What do you think about that?

Bruh go watch how "well" LATAM, JP and SEA teams play

NA will win them even without practicing at all for a month straight

these regions are most likely to be worse than NA, but i think EU will beat NA, and BR and Vision Strikers will be competitive to NA teams

My take, everyone from each region they support just says that their region is the best and their "playstyle is superior to the others" as if they even know. We don't know how well these teams will stack up against each other and if one playstyle will win against another. No one knows which region will be the best until Iceland so everyone should shut the fuck up until then.

Good mentality for those who want to be surprised, play without training against regions that aim to conquer the world, that's how Liquid crashed against LG in 2016, the rest of the story you know what happened.

I bet you never watched a single match of LATAM, JP and SEA top teams. Go ahead, do it, you will be surprised of how BAD they are, both mechanically and tactically.

Of course there might be some talents in those regions, but majority of teams are just pure shithole with no future on international scene. Should have given EMEA 3 slots instead.

how bad? can't talk about SEA because i have never watched them, but the best teams of JP and LATAM will be hard rivals for the goats

Wait you really think that KRU will be able to score at least double digits against FPX, Opps, Guild, SEN, 100T or other top-tier EU/NA teams? Lol.

its only been until now that Opps shone bright, (and i still doubt their ability), for a while, they were wayyyyy out of reach for top 10, FPX is rly good, SEN is beatable, 100T is beatable and Guild is good but they arent the cracked EU superteam u may think they are

Seangares on his stream recently said that eu will wipe the floor with na teams. He was also talking how op jett is. Also like 3-4 months ago he was also shitting his pants about how good was some korean team who won the tournament that time and by his words is probably the best team in the world. I think he is just full of shit and is banking on dumb children attracted to his fake enthusiasm and his fake ability to predict something. He gives too much attention to clips which is also what dumb children like too much and presents it as something showing some trend rather than just a cool thing skilled person did once. So in conclusion sean is full of shit and is pandering to dumb children

Many LATAM players occupy high positions in the Brazilian Radiant and some are mechanically very good, like those of KRU and Australs, I believe that those who underestimate these teams will pay dearly.

EU teams are so much better at their strategy. The only NA team that can keep up with EU is sentinels and maybe 100t/NV. Other than EU, the rest of the region are sub-par compared to NA, except Brazil

God people like you are brain dead. You think your some kind of analyst and blame the fact you being silver on your teammates. Like have you seen EU pros aim it’s equivalent to NA plat-diamond aim. I’m actually convinced I have better aim than all of them. If cned and scream are your regions best aimers than that means your far behind NA

They are enjoying finally some relevancy due to the fact they started to play valorant big time as first ones cause all the irrelevant tier 2 players and people that couldn't achieve anything against EU in CSGO switched.

I dont think that eu will have easy time with na teams. Na have much more cs go pros who were better at the time they went to valorant from cs than eu had. I think 100t will definitely be top contender to win it in iceland if they will not shit their pants in qualifying process.

No. You can also look at how people did in their previous careers and from what you can see is that ex csgo players are currently doing the best. Na have so many of them and 100t have top2. Ethan and nitro no doubt are the best cs players that went to val from cs and eu has nothing except mixwell who never achieved anything and is struggling with g2 in val currently and jampi who is a dark horse. I think na is very underapreciated. Its not because na have better players overall but it just happened that more better players went to val in na from other games. New generation of players will probably tilt the scales to eu like it usually happens

#35

That's because they've been proven that. In an esport where there has been no international lans no region is going to say they are worse then others. That's just a natural bias. Why count yourself out when nothing has been proven. If your saying your better than other regions when it has been proven otherwise, then your just delusional and cocky.

In my original post I was specifically talking about Valorant when I said every region is biased towards themselves. I would agree in other esports, where there has been international lans, that is different

we have absolutely NO idea how TenZ would match up against scream. they have never played against each other in valorant. TenZ could be better, he could be worse. I think it’s arrogant to just say that one is better than the other from stats and highlights, at the end of the day it’s all about perspective

#25

A lot of audacity for him to say the things he said about the EU yesterday on live since this is always a dominant region in all games and great players, Scream and Mixwell have already won huge titles at CSGO and we know what we can expect from them in international tournaments, unlike TenZ who never passed for an internet player who had mediocre performances on the LAN.

It's going to happen in any game with international teams, it's pretty apparent in csgo when an NA team (read here: Team Liquid) loses and all the EU fanboys go to hltv and spam that everyone on their roster should switch to valorant because they are all washed NA tier 2 scrubs

Didn't read your whole post but seangares has literally criticized NA's playstyle for like months now, he has said again and again its not sustainable and although some teams will have success at first(Faze) and adoption of a more tactically style of play will come slowly to the region. I'm pretty sure Seangares is going for EU to win it

i mean na has been the laughing stock of esports for years so when na teams finally show dominance and seem to have the capability to beat other regions its kind of just people being like "finally" - being toxic to other regions isn't really fair though, since we haven't seen any LAN. Guess iceland will show!

Every region has at least 2 teams which could fight for the first international tournament title. The whole point is that some regions will far short due to their own exposure. Pro teams study each other and the more content you show, the more predictable you get

Watch the game for the player's skill and for how much you enjoy playing. Region fanboys are a bane on the community and it would be better without them.
Whoever wins in Iceland, just have pleasure watching the first Valorant LAN, not that anyway proves the best region.
After a year or two and several LAN's, then you can say for sure, which region is doing best.

Yo NA homies, STFU and watch some EU, BR, and the other regions before commenting. At the very least listen to Plat Chat Valorant since they do the watching and the analysis for you.

It’s hot that hard to do a little research in order to figure out that NA’s play is way below both EU and BR and at least KR as well (I haven’t watched CIS/TUR or any other minor region so I’m not commenting on it) before commenting and looking like the ass we all are when we are ignorant and lazy.

NA do deserve the funding/investment they are getting, because they are getting viewership. Regions played at a higher skill level don't necessarily equate to more revenue generated, in the same way that March Madness gets far more revenue than Euroleague.
