Day One

The opening game for the week saw DRX go up against Paper Rex Paper Rex Asia-Pacific Rank #1 mindfreak Aaron Leonhart Jinggg Wang Jing Jie f0rsakeN Jason Susanto d4v41 Khalish Rusyaidee something Ilya Petrov . Paper Rex had announced the signing of their new player Ilya "something" Petrov and they were eager to put him on the server.

Map one was DRX's pick - Ascent. They had managed a comfortable 13-5 win against ZETA DIVISION on the same map and got off to a strong start in their attacking half. They only dropped three rounds, closing out the half at 9-3. PRX showed a glimmer of life in the second half but after the pistol and anti-eco, DRX took four quick rounds in succession to win Ascent 13-5.

Map two saw Split come into play and it was almost a mirror match, the only difference being something on Jett vs BuZz on Kayo. The game saw both teams win rounds in succession, eventually culminating in a 7-5 lead for DRX. Paper Rex made it close but the South Koreans would seal the deal in their favor, 13-10. While something looked much stronger on map two, it remains to be seen if the additional firepower he brings will be enough.

The second game saw Team Secret Team Secret Asia-Pacific Rank #11 invy Adrian Jiggs Reyes BORKUM Jim Timbreza JessieVash Jessie Cuyco Jremy Jeremy Cabrera NDG Noel De Guia go up against Rex Regum Qeon Rex Regum Qeon Asia-Pacific Rank #27 xffero David Monangin Lmemore Hagai Kristen Yesyurun Jemkin Maksim Batorov Estrella Park Gun (박건) fl1pzjder Saibani Rahmad . While Team Secret had faced their first loss against Gen.G last week, RRQ were on the upswing after winning their series vs DFM. Map one, chosen by Team Secret, took both teams to Icebox. While TS went for a no-duelist meta comp with a KAY/O instead of Jett, RRQ pulled out the Harbor-Viper team comp.

On defense, RRQ started strong, winning six out of the first eight rounds. TS stabilized, winning the last round in the half off of a 4K from Adrian "invy" Jiggs Reyes, and ended it at 7-5 in their opponents' favor. However, in the second half, RRQ got to match point quick, bringing the score to 12-6. TS showed signs of a comeback, winning four consecutive rounds before RRQ won, 13-10.

The second map was Split, where RRQ seemed utterly at home. As a team, they were firing on all cylinders and ended the first half 10-2, an extremely dominant attacking start. In the second half, TS tried to bounce back but the damage was done, and RRQ took the series 2-0.

Day Two

The second day of action saw two of the South Korean and Japanese teams go head to head. The first game was between T1 T1 Korea Rank #3 Sayaplayer Ha Jeong-woo (하정우) Rossy Daniel Abedrabbo Carpe Lee Jae-hyeok (이재혁) iZu Ham Woo-ju (함우주) xccurate Kevin Susanto and Gen.G Gen.G Korea Rank #1 Munchkin Byeon Sang-beom (변상범) t3xture Kim Na-ra (김나라) Meteor Kim Tae-O (김태오) Lakia Kim Jong-min (김종민) Karon Kim Won-tae (김원태) - while the former had lost to PRX the previous week, Gen. G were still undefeated.

The series started on Ascent, where Gen. G, after losing the pistol, proceeded to utterly dominate in their first defensive half. They won four consecutive rounds before T1 got another round in, then another five more rounds in the half to bring the score to 9-3 in Gen. G's favor. The second half did see two more rounds come in for T1 but that would be all they got as Gen.G won yet another four consecutive rounds to win Ascent 13-5.

While Ha "Sayaplayer" Jeong-woo (하정우) had the highest ACS on the server, he was the only player on T1 to have a positive KDA and overall, Gen. G seemed to be much better coordinated, especially on their defensive setups.

Map two, Gen. G's pick of Haven, saw them once again get off to a strong start, winning four rounds in a row. However, on this map, T1 were ready to fight and they were able to bounce back with some rounds of their own. Munchkin and iNTRO both found 3Ks in round six and seven, allowing them to keep Gen.G's lead slim through halftime at 7-5.

But Gen.G's lead wouldn't stay slim for long. Gen. G. put up an unbreakable defense, winning every single round to take the map 13-5. For Gen. G, Lee "k1Ng" Seung-won (이승원) was the player of the day, dropping 36 kills across both maps on Killjoy and finding five first kills in the process. With this win, Gen.G remain one of the two undefeated teams in the league.

The second series for the day saw ZETA DIVISION ZETA DIVISION Japan Rank #7 Laz Ushida Koji yuran Yushin Hato hiroronn Hiroki Yanai Dep Yuma Hashimoto SugarZ3ro Shota Watanabe go up against DetonatioN FocusMe DetonatioN FocusMe Japan Rank #2 Medusa An Min-cheol (안민철) neth Yusuke Matsuda Meiy Ibuki Seki popogachi Souta Morita Anthem Yoshitaka Enomoto . The former had built up a steady win streak since losing their debut to DRX, while the latter have struggled to find their footing, having only won a single map over the course of three weeks of play.

The first game of the series was Ascent, chosen by ZETA. They started off with a pistol win and another two rounds, countered by two from DFM. However, those would be the only two rounds they would win on their defensive half, as ZETA ended the half 10-2. DFM dug deep after losing the next pistol round, winning out the next seven rounds, which included a 1v2 clutch from Anthem. The game looked like it might head into OT at 11-9, but ZETA finally were able to win out the last two rounds to win map one 13-9.

Haven was DFM's pick and the second map. Once again, ZETA were able to find a great start with six consecutive rounds. DFM finally won their first round in the half after Takemori "takej" Shogo clutched up a 1v3. DFM did find two more rounds in the half, closing it out 9-3 in ZETA's favor. However, unlike last map, they were not able to mount a comeback, only winning the pistol and anti-eco before ZETA took the map with four more consecutive round victories, 13-5. With this win, ZETA are third in the rankings while DFM are yet to win a series.

Day Three

The only game of the day saw two teams - Global Esports Global Esports Asia-Pacific Rank #101 blaZek1ng Gary Dastin Lightningfast Abhirup Choudhury Polvi Niko Polvinen Benkai Benedict Tan Russ Russel Mendes and Talon Esports Talon Esports Asia-Pacific Rank #24 Crws Thanamethk Mahatthananuyut JitBoyS Jittana Nokngam Surf Thanachart Rungapajaratkul lenne Lim You Xiang Lionel ban Joseph Seungmin Oh Governor Peter No - neither with any wins, face off against each other. For Global Esports, both of their Indian players Ganesh "SkRossi" Gangadhar and Abhirup "Lightningfast" Choudhury finally saw their debut in the Pacific League.

To start off with, Global Esports chose Split. Their Viper/Astra/Sage team composition helped them put up a strong defense. Monyet started things off with an ace to his name and GE were able to dominate in the first half, eventually closing it 9-3. Talon Esports on the other hand struggled throughout the map to find their footing. They did win the first two rounds after the side swap and looked like they could convert their bonus as well, but Park "Bazzi" Jun-ki (박준기) pulled off a 1v3 clutch to put the final nail in the coffin. Talon were able to find only one more round before GE won Split 13-6, one of the most dominant wins they've had in recent times.

The second map, Icebox, saw both teams use similar Viper/Harbor team comps. The only difference between them was in the initiator — Talon opted for a conventional Sova pick while GE went for Skye instead.

GE once again started off strong with four consecutive round wins, though Talon were able to bounce back with five of their own. The score continued going back and forth, with the half eventually ending at 6-6. The second half was much of the same, though GE were able to get to match point first. Talon were not able to find a 12th round of their own to make overtime happen, and Global Esports pulled off a clean 2-0 win, their first victory in the league.

With the conclusion of week four of the VCT Pacific league, both DRX and Gen.G have proven they're prepared for whatever comes, with the former not having dropped a single map. ZETA division is right behind them with three wins and one loss, but as for the next few teams, it could be anyone making it to the coveted top six positions. However, both Talon Esports and DetonatioN FocusMe are struggling, with not a single win to their name so far.
