Those venues are big Ls or understandable? I don't understand why RIOT is playing so safe when Valve is going all in with CS. JP fans are not like BR fans that they would completely abandon all the matches except the home teams. Also, Tokyo is a huge metropolitan with very high standard of living that they can afford to spend their lunch money on these tickets.

That shouldn't be the biggest factor imo. Chiba is incredibly accessible and since they are going for low crowd anyway I feel like chiba was the best option. But I don't understand why they are playing so safe, JP fans have proved already that they are passionate about the game!

The thing is that they said the event was going to be Masters "Tokyo", and not Chiba LMFAO. That is straight-up misinformation.

We all know Riot is big L, they should have let Japanese organizers handle it

Riot international is most likely handling the event, NOT Riot Japan.
That is why the riot is reducing expenses and not hosting it in Saitama Arena tbh.
