Riot Games have given China two direct slots into Masters Tokyo, matching last year's 12-team Masters events.

Masters Tokyo was initially revealed as a ten-team tournament, featuring three slots per international league and a tenth for winner's region at VCT LOCK//IN. Today's announcement brings the total to twelve with the inclusion of two Chinese teams.

As such, the Masters Tokyo slot distribution is now:

  • VCT Americas League: 3
  • VCT EMEA League: 3
  • VCT Pacific League: 3
  • China: 2 slots
  • Winning LOCK//IN region: 1

The tournament will feature a 12-team double-elimination bracket, which requires high and lower seeds. The exact seeding of the teams is still unknown.

Masters Tokyo will run from June 11 to 25.
