Children play games. This site links to crypto sports betting and gambling sites. Bothersome? Worth Discussing?

I mean, so what? Like businesses aren't exactly charities, it's delusional to even consider them moral or ethical in the slightest. E-Sports gambling is huge, just like IRL sports (which are also largely watched by kids). It depends on how you consider businesses, as an entity, or as a person.

This might get me down voted, but it's completely obvious that tons of people on this site are children, even a majority, and promoting gambling is very scummy.
Since you guys downvoting have some evidence: https://academic.oup.com/heapro/article/20/1/69/797595

how else do you propose that they stay profitable

something other than promoting gambling

that sounds like a funny way to say you couldn't come up with a feasible way of keeping VLR profitable

you think promoting gambling is the only thing vlr can do to stay profitable???

i think its the most feasible way for a esports-related website to stay profitable. there's a reason HLTV does the same

If gambling is the only way they can be profitable then they shouldn't be profitable.

just non gambling ads i suppose, with the amount of monkeys on this site I bet he could release some form of paid subscription service and it would sell like crazy lol

i would rather this website go over than promote gambling to kids (Liquapedia giving free esport information and rumors without shitty gambling promos)

Liquipedia is funded by Liquid and doesn't have to pay article writers/editors you imbecile. It's crowd-sourced.

other kinds of ads exist. ok maybe google ads are not so profitable/get blocked but they can just run ads of replay apps. apps like medal etc
you must have seen many different replay app sponsorships on yt vids, they can also run ads of apps like buff.
it is possible yk medal sponsors top.gg

What are they going to gamble with? these kids are broke

And if parents give a minor a CC and expect them to behave properly, that's on them

it isn't Enigma's job to teach kids how to use money and stay away from gambling

did you read my post? where will children get money from?

If their parents give them a credit card and expect sane behavior then they fucked up, what can I say. It's on them to educate and protect their children, the world doesn't care

if you're a teenager you could be working a job or your parents giving you an allowance. just google gambling ruining young children's lives.
and yes teenagers are children

Somehow they have to fund the site, plus if you use adblock you will never see any ad related to it

I can guarantee you the same ones asking to remove the gambling ads from this site wont donate a single penny to this site. SHUT THE FUCK UP and enjoy the site instead of complaining if you cant support it financially.

sports or esports always go hand in hand with gambling whether you like it or not unfortunately

#39

(e)-sport betting or fantasy games based on them dont really come under random gambling like slots - whether they should or not is a separate debate but this will continue as it increases the interest + engagement of fans. Also can "children" really make accounts and gamble on these sites? - pretty sure they need to provide proof of age with an ID. All crypto sites need proof of ID aswell.
