Do you mean deserving players not getting slots? if the teams won't get better they will have to pick up the deserving players they just need to be super good in t2 ez

I hate it because we no longer get to see teams like this that could pontentially climb their way to the top of valorant and we will also see many trash players being recycled instead of good t2 talents being picked up

That depends on the org tho

true but it has generally been the case in other esports, franchised leagues become a closed group where every1 knows eachother as there is sort of an elitism where they just reclycle eachother since they are "proven" to be decent at that level that is supposed to be way better than t2

Thing is this is not a typical franchise league, riot keeps the power as u cant buy in but actually need to have good management to add to that the current franchise teams will only be franchised for 4 years, and there is still ascensio for the possibilityof immortal3 5 stack Andy's winning a masters event, imo riot managed to balance the god and bad of franchising cause the esport needs some form of stability to bring investment

Ascension still exists bro so this “won’t see new talent doesn’t make sense” + franchised teams will be more pressured to perform well so they have a bigger incentive to replace failing players

#8

1 team a year is shit, not worth the investment for 80% of orgs

#10

also in reality that doesnt happen, players who dont perform will most likely get replaced by another franchise player and that player will find a team because he has "experience" in the league, its a tale as old as time

Tf, there’s absolutely no logic in this, so you think franchised teams will just be trading players?

#13

player trading is allowed in franchising read the rules

#15

Not saying it isn’t allowed, I’m saying it won’t happen, no big team will pick a bad player that was kicked from his previous team, it never happened, why do you think mummay steel Zombs kryptix doma magnum never made it back to a T1 team?

Those players werent already in the franchise to begin with, I am saying it will happen with the current players that will be washed in 1-2 years. Also those dogs are even too dogshit, I am talking about players who are bad for t1 level but not as bad as those you mentioned. Doma and Magnum are decent tho and got friends in franchise so could see them there in the future

These players wouldn’t be getting a good team with or without franchising, the thing is they are actually going to be getting more visibility now because they’ll be competing against weaker teams in ascension, and guess where big orgs will be looking for new players? That’s right, the top ascension teams

#14

Basically, orgs are generally very badly run and people inside franchise will create the narrative that the league is on another level and that the players there are so good and experienced.

Its already happening with heretics, they sign washed mixwell for clout (understandable) and he brings to the same his friend avova who is shit and they keep keloqz who couldnt even perform against amateur spanish teams (he is talented tho just a monkey). Why not bring Baddyg and try to sign some1 like miniboo? Baddyg is FA and is t1 proven, miniboo was the best player in vrl spain where keloqz was very underwhelming

Cause at the end of the day winning is not going to get ur org money from VC's , clout and content will, all the orgs in franchising have great content maschines and atleast descent competitive integrity and if a org decides to fk up (Cough Cough... rrq) then riot steps in, cause remember winning in modern esports is not enough(unless it TI)u need clout to survive

This makes no sense, ascension is literally about teams being able to potentially climb their way to the top of Valorant

yeah the amoung of time u waste in t2 to grind, does it guarantee u goona get pick up by t1 team? no one gonna do that

facts, in esports you get chances by having contacts, if you remove the chance of you potentially making a team and grinding to the top and give a few all the slots then it becomes a shit show

That is present in every aspect of life bro, wdym this a thing on traditional sports, office culture, hell legacy admissions are a thing in top unis, pls stop bringing this up as a point, this is how society in general functions

no one likes to see "Parla esports" man, if those players are good they will eventually picked up or they'll promote, as simple as that.

No actually, his take is correct. This shit is 80% business, 20% meritocracy. The sooner you accept that, the better

I'm sure every CS fan enjoyed the Outsiders vs Heroic game!! I wonder why it had a low viewership with such good players!

this could be a good argument but the best players still can win ascension not like other franchising formats on other Esports and the best players of the ascension finalists will get picked up by the flop teams like whoever loses.

I said since then first announcement it's shit system. they will boost shitty teams for just more viewership... do you really think BBL or FUT can go to between of T1 teams? Of course no but who cares even if they are placed in last slots, they will bring viewership and popularity.

It makes the scene more competitive at the end of the day and puts pressure on orgs and players to always perform. Everyone is under the pressure to perform now. Edit: KEKW downvoted me cause i speak the truth. If you're a franchise team and you suck, everyone can see it. If you're a player and you don't improve you'll be replaced.
