The game kicked off on Haven, picked by FaZe. After losing the pistol and anti-eco, The Guard rallied back with a 4-2 lead off the back of their stalwart defense. Despite stumbling in round 7, The Guard continued to rack up rounds and only relinquished a single other round to their opponents to give themselves a four round lead going into the second half.

The Guard opened up the second half in dominant fashion, only letting one round slip through their fingers, and they closed out the map 13-5.

JonahP led the server with a KDA of 20-8 (+12), 298 ACS, and 173 ADR. The next closest was his teammate Sayaplayer , with a KDA of 19-13 (+6), 283 ACS, and 159 ADR.

Up 1-0 in the series, The Guard started their map pick, Icebox, by losing the pistol and anti-eco. Despite that, they won six consecutive rounds, putting themselves up 6-2. FaZe managed to stop the bleeding with a fast A push and a 4k clutch from POISED on rounds 9 and 11 respectively, but The Guard continued to rack up round wins to end the half 8-4.

Similar to the second half of Haven, The Guard entered the half by winning the pistol and anti-eco rounds but were unable to convert their bonus round. valyn and his squad rallied back shortly after, and FaZe got their last two rounds of the series as The Guard swept them with four rounds in a row, with the last one being a 1v4 heroic clutch from neT .

JonahP and Sayaplayer continued to put on stellar performances, with both players finishing the map with a combined KDA of 32-22 (+10) and eight entry kills between the two — seven for Saya and one for JonahP.

100 Thieves vs Cloud 9 (100T 2-0)

The last game of the day was 100 Thieves and Cloud9 fighting for survival in the NA LCQ. 100 Thieves began with their map pick, Ascent. They started on the offensive side, hoping to rebound from their last showing, where they were shut out by FaZe. Despite Asuna securing three kills in the pistol round, 100T began the map with a 4-0 deficit. It was until round 7 that they capitalized off a 5-1 deficit to lead up at the half 7-5, thanks to Will 's heroics.

100 Thieves continued riding the momentum from their defensive half by winning the pistol and anti-eco. Despite losing the bonus, the Thieves' defense was too much for C9 to bear. Cloud9 claimed one more round as 100 Thieves wrapped up the map 13-7.

Will's heroic performance was a significant factor in 100 T's win on Ascent: he went 23-11 (+12) – with a 18-5 (+13) KDA on their attack half. The next closest was teammate Asuna, who went 16-15 (+1) – with a 11-9 (+2) KDA on their attack half.

One map loss away from elimination, Cloud9 needed to bring the series back in their favor on their pick, Fracture. C9 opened up with a loss on the pistol and anti-eco rounds. They salvaged three more rounds and another two after round six, but the Thieves' drive for victory was already present as they finished up the half with a 7-5 lead.

Cloud9 kicked off what would be their final half of VCT 2022 with three rounds in a row, giving themselves a slim 8-7 lead. stellar and his squad brought two rounds in their favor, but a wayward A push allowed Xeppaa to get four kills and tie up the series once more. After 100T won the round, curry came clutch by winning a 1v2 against Derrek and Asuna. However, that would be Cloud9's last round win of VCT 2022, as 100 Thieves closed out Fracture in a nail-biting 13-10 fashion.

bang and Derrek were the heroes of Fracture, racking up a combined KDA of 43-25 (+18) — with the two of them coming up big on their attack half, getting a combined 23 kills. They both finished the map with three rounds where they netted three kills, most notably with Derrek's on round 22 and bang's on round 23.
