FPX Franchising

It would be stupid staying in EMEA for franchising, should really go back to Asia, is where their fanbase is. So my question now is, can NAVI pick Ange1 and the boys up?

If they go back to Asia i guess it would be for the China spot and only EDG roster (maybe Kone) is worth at the moment.

But if it happens, yes NA'VI can pick them up

I don’t think Riot has spots assigned, or at least that’s not how it works in EMEA. Every major region gets at least 1 representative and then the rest of the spots it’s up to the orgs, simply the best orgs possible that haven’t been chosen yet from wherever they are from

I dunno much but from what I’ve heard there’ll be 3 slots for JP, 3 slots for KR, 1 for CN, and 5 for SEA+SA+OCE

#6

My point is, they have no fanbase here at all, I don’t really think Riot should let them stay, meanwhile in China they are absolutely huge, and would benefit a lot a growing scene

#57
Gqviria

Frags

So let's kick the best CIS roster, Masters champions because they have no fanbase at all? they are already building a lot as you can see from the players interactions, FPX is a solid org in China (No CN spot at the moment) and their only shot is EU

#58

Exactly bruh, these guys are this dumb to say that riot shouldn't give the spot to the masters winners , and give it to some streamer team like
in NA so that riot can just make money and ignore the talent and also create a problem for their livelihoods, so dumb of riot, i think riot should just give up this idea of franchising . Also today i thought a bit about this, the objective of riot doing this is that teams like SEN who cannot qualify on their own after defeating teams who are straight away 10000 times better than them , bring viewership , but viewership is still there mannn

#60

Dude you're so lost my friend, be sure to understand what you're talking about before calling someone dumb

#59
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

Who is talking about players dude? You realize this is a 4 years deal right? You can't count current rosters as a factor, they could get worse, and then what the other 3 years?

Do you think those players are not gonna get picked up by another org if FPX doesn't make it?

#61
Gqviria
0
Frags
+

You do realize the 4 years deal also allows them to make roster changes? If the team starts to not work they can make changes, they won't get stuck with the same roster 4 years.

And yes, those player will get picked up, but there is a high possibility that they will get separated as well since Orgs will try to poach whoever they can.

Look at M3C, yes they wanna stay together and they are receiving offers as a team, but they are also receiving individual offers cause they need to think about them and if an org makes a good offer they will take it.

#62
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

You're not understanding my point. What I'm saying it's you can't give spots judging by how good a current roster is cause that might not be the case in the future, it is much better to give spots judging the quality and conditions an org has, cause of those stay over time.

Well dude, if they decide to take individual offers that's their deal my friend, if they really wanna stay together they will have plenty of offers that will allow them to, if they don't then it's cause they consider it best for them

#63
Gqviria

Frags

I am, they as a team have one of the greates stories in Valorant so far, same core for 2 years, pick up Ardiis after G2 and Heretics fucked him and gave him comfort, picked up a "nobody" that people said was shit, qualified for M1 and couldnt go cause of Visa, then have to qualify again, they were gonna play with 2 subs until the day before opening match Shao got his visa, qualify for playoffs with stand in, Suygetsu arrives but not before they are send to the lower, then they make the lower bracket run defeating the both teams that send them to lowers, defeating the actual champs and take down APAC power house.

If you tell me that doesnt bring fans, then nothing will.

If they really wanna stay together there are 3 orgs at the moment willing to take them (Per rumors) and the point was that there are more possibilities of them being apart than together.

#64
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

But dude if they have the opportunity of staying together and they don't take it that doesn't have anything to do with what happens with FPX, it's a completely different topic

And yes storylines earn fans, fans to the roster not the org, 4 years dude, 4. Look what fucking happened with LEC, nobody wants to watch it. But I don't think we are gonna agree on this one so let's just agree to disagree

#12

No, It’s not, quality of the current roster is not a factor at all rn. If not tell me why Acend and GUILD are already discarded and teams like Giants, or even Istambul Wildcats lol, still have a chance

#17

because acend is a no name crypto org and guild are going bankrupt soon, FPX will stay in EMEA, any1 would rather have a spot in EMEA than Asia

#19

It’s not about them bro, it’s about Riot. Why tf would they wanna keep them here, they have 0 fanbase, and yeah, they have a good roster now, but they can’t judge by current rosters cause this is for 4 years. If they lose the roster or gets washed up. Then you have an org with a shitty team and no fanbase. Plus who are they even representing?

#22
idkbro
0
Frags
+

because its an org they have been working with for so long in league, have won a world championship in league and meet all the requirements neccesary? this is not franchising, this is partnerships, its a 2-3 years contract I believe and riot can kick them out if they want to in the future, riot dont give a shit about anything they just want orgs who got tons of money or fanbase, 1 or the other, otherwise why are teams like rogue even making it to the last stage of partnership application? they are a dead org and dont even have a team in valorant, because they have worked with them before and got money

#23
Mortadelo
1
Frags
+

It is a 4 year partnership my friend. And I’m not saying they shouldn’t give them a spot, I’m saying give it in Asia, just like G2 wasn’t allowed to move to LCS at the start of Lol

No, they don’t meet every requirement the MOST important requirement is having a big fanbase and a representing a large community in the region. Then comes being stable economically and then comes relationship with Riot. They don’t meet the most important requirement

#25
idkbro
-1
Frags
+

G2 has had a european roster since the start of valorant, FPX has had a european roster since the start, your argument makes no sense, g2 is literally trying tor relocate completely, I agree there are better orgs than FPX because they dont have that much european fanbase but for the time being its fine to give them the spot, it would be disrespectful from riot to not give FPX a slot in EMEA which is what they want, ofc they would get a slot in Asia, Asian orgs are poor af every1 would get a slot if you have some money.
You are delusional if you think the most important requierement is having a big fanbase and representing a large community, the biggest requirement was to be a rich org which is financially stable, they wont get a spanish org, a french one, a british one, a german one, a turkish one, a CIS one, nordic one, etc... They will get G2, Fnatic and Liquid because they are the biggest orgs in Europe, they will also get KOI and KC to farm spanish and french viewership, FPX because they invested in valorant since the beginning and Riot has to appreciate that to FPX which is an org that they have worked with for many years, maybe BBL for turkish fanbase, NaVi because its one of the biggest orgs in Europe and to have CIS representation, Vitality for french viewership and because its one of the biggest orgs in Europe and then its a gamble, Riot only care about money, the only requirement is that you have financial stability and a lot of money, if they cared about having orgs from each part of EMEA they would get a MENA org but they wont :o

#27

“You are delusional if you think the most important requierement is having a big fanbase and representing a large community“ “ they wont get a spanish org, a french one, a british one, a german one, a turkish one, a CIS one, nordic one, etc... ”

And you procede to say that KOI, KCORP, BBL, Vitality, NAVI are gonna get in which is basically all those countries but Britain which is already represented by FNC and Germany which I don’t discard Big gets in

Explain me what has happened with Mad Lions then, don’t they have just as good of a relationship with Riot than FPX? But still rn literally Fire Flux has a bigger chance of getting in than them. Do you think the fact that they have 0 fanbase is not a factor at all?

#29
idkbro
0
Frags
+

I am just telling you what riot is gonna do, they will select them to farm national viewership but not because of that but because first of all and most importantly they are rich orgs, Mad lions didnt get in because if there is a spanish org that gets in its gonna be KOI, otherwise it Riot would be making the most retarded mistake in esports this last 5 years, BIG wont get in bro, Riot dont care about regional representation, they care about the regions with clout like spain, france and turkey not the rest, Fireflux wont get in for the same reason, BBL is a streamer org like KOI and streamer orgs like that are the future of esports, a big name historic org like Fnatic will never be able to bring esports to the masses thats why streamer orgs are the future, BTW I doubt riot is counting Fnatic as britain, they are pretty much a global org at this point and their fanbase is not majority british, it was founded by swedes and brits and has its HQ in Britain but it has no roots in british esports so I doubt they count them as british, either way Fnatic, g2 and liquid dont need a region to represent, they are simply "too big to fail": big money, big names, history and fanbase
Good night btw, dont know about you but I couldnt care less about what orgs get in at the end of the day, I just care about the players/teams not orgs and as long as we are the best region which I am 100% sure we will be better than ever with all the talent concentrated in 10 teams, I just want us to be as good that we make the other regions tired of watching us win quit watching valorant, but always remember that a criminal company like Riot only cares about money not representing the different "regions" within EMEA

#32
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

That is not true and has been said by everyone. If they only cared for me not they would have done like in Lol where you need to buy the spot. I think you’re very wrong my friend but we’re just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one my friend.

But as a last MAD Lions it’s just as Spanish or as G2 is lol, and no that’s not why they haven’t made it cause Giants and Heretics have. And if you think Big doesn’t have a chance you’re also delusional, let me remind you the event it’s either gonna be in Berlin or Barcelona

Any1 would rather have a spot in EMEA than Asia? You do realise EMEA is going to have the lowest viewership out of the 3 leagues right?

#24
idkbro
2
Frags
+

I am not so sure that will be the case in the future, EMEA will by far be the best league out of all 3, wont have as much clout but between picking asia and emea every1 would still rather pick EMEA, asia only has viewership because they are the most populated continent by far, no1 outside of it cares about them, EMEA has a global viewership and much more potential to grow the product, also considering KOI and KC will get into the league then viewership will explode and smoke Asia easily, FPX just need better marketing and they will get a lot more fans, they got likeable players and every1 loves a winning team, if KOI and KC get into the league you guys are not ready for the amount of clout the league will have, EMEA will have the eyes of europe, a lot of NA, South america thanks to Ibai and asia, what about asia? they play at terrible time zones and only asians watch it

Why would that be stupid? They already have a stronghold in China cz of their LOL team, now they can expand to EU through their world class valorant roster.

#28

Because the go from being one of the biggest orgs with the most fanbase in their country to being a middle org with absolutely no fanbase in EMEA

Riot would literally be shooting their foot if they do it

#30

Yes, they want to expand their brand internationally, get some non-Chinese fans
What's bad about it

#34

It’s not bad for them, is not what I’m saying. It’s bad for Riot who should look to maximize their viewership

Money>Fans for riot they already submitted their application for Emea so I don’t see this happening

#35

Money > fans??????? Sure look at the LEC lol literally just G2 and FNC have fans at all, and that’s why no one wants to watch it

#37

Than why is teams like Istanbul Wildcats in the last stage of franchising that team has no fans in Valorant also my second point holds true

#38

Cause if they were the only Turkish team, do you really think Turkish wouldn’t watch it?

#41
BBL_Wtcn

But how does Istanbul Wildcats make it to last stage when they have no fans to begin with? Why didn’t SMB make it for example

#42
Mortadelo
0

Cause they have relations with Riot from Lol basically, but they are not gonna make it any further. BBL is making it, and not because of their money, because of their fans

#47
BBL_Wtcn
0
Frags

Ok fine we can just agree to disagree but the second point I made is holding true which is that they already made their application in Emea so its really hard for them to get into franchising in Asia right now

#48
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

Yeah let's agree to disagree, but no, that point it's also wrong it's already confirmed that orgs can apply at at least 2 regions, just like it's confirmed G2 has applied in both EMEA and NA. Obviously it's up to Riot to decide where they wanna let them be since they can't have both tho

#33
SaltyMcNulty
-1
Frags

Wdym No fans? Fans will come with time. They already had loads of people cheering for them in Copenhagen. It's not like Europeans would refuse to support an all EU roster just bc it's a Chinese org! It's still a home team on the intl. stage and valorant fans have not yet jumped on the legacy org bandwagon yet.

#36
Mortadelo
0
Frags

Ofc they will win fans with time, the problem is they are good now, but this is gonna be 4 years long my friend, if their roster gets washed up, what’s left

#39
SaltyMcNulty

Frags

They will sign some other players. It's not like they have shortage of money and investing EU is a bad investment. I mean EU is the cathedral of FPS gaming. Could they go back to CN? Yes, they could but it also makes a lot of sense for them to stay in EU.

#40
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

Again, I’ve never said it doesn’t make sense to them. I’m talking about Riots perspective, at the end, they have the choice not FPX, and that move is shooting their own foot from a business perspective and for the well of Valorant

#43
Olofboost
1
Frags

Let's say G2, FNC, TL, BBL, KOI, KC, VITA - locked, massive brands

Need 3 more teams
None of the remanining ones have big fanbase, even if they do, it's not very different from FPX EU Valorant fanbase (who gained a lot of support by winning Copenhagen)
What's the difference between picking, say, Rogue, or FPX? There's none

#44
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

Well, you still need a CIS representative, so NAVI is going in too that leaves us 2. Imo BIG is going in, remember the league is more likely gonna be in Berlin so they kinda have to (Heard rumors it might be in Barcelona too, Riot people has been looking for places)

So 1 spot left, is that spot gonna be FPX? Honestly idk could be, but I really think it’s much better to give that spot to either another Big Turkish org or maybe another Spanish one, might be biased but Heretics it’s almost as huge as KOI (Second twitch viewers world record with 2.4M, just behind KOI).

This is my whole point, Rito has much better options

#45
Olofboost
0
Frags
+

Navi is not a lock, FPX might be considered CIS as well, thus picked in place of Navi for that subregion's representation

BIG is not a lock, G2 is based in Germany, maybe they'll count G2 as DACH because of it, and there will be no need to get BIG into the league

3rd team - anyone else, Heretics could be, but they already have a Spanish rep (KOI), so it's not necessary

Also, we don't know whether Riot even counts CIS / DACH / East as big enough to get their own teams in EMEA

#46
Mortadelo
0
Frags
+

1 FPX can't be considered CIS just because of their roster, this is 4 years, they literally could disband and sign anything else and then you're definitely killing the region viewership forever. So yes, Navi it's a lock for me

2 No, G2 is not a german org, I doubt Germans feel more identified with them than any other Eu country, G2 is europe

3 Ofc Heretics is not necessary but would definitely be more beneficial for the league than FPX, just like another Turkish team

4 They definitely count CIS, they have to, specially if it's with an org NAVI, who can bring many people from CS. And DACH they have to if they don't wanna have empty crowds trough out the whole league yk

#49

I thought this was common knowledge but FPX have not submitted for APAC. Only region they have applied for is EMEA. In the past I have multiple times reported that FPX is committed to EMEA. Although I wish they would get some actual staff so D00MBR0S can get all that pressure off his shoulders.
