Why no Australian or Chinese teams at masters?

I know that Australian teams were meant to compete in champions last year, but has riot changed the qualification process in the OCE region?

What about China? I know there are Chinese teams, and tencent is Chinese too, so is there a reason for this?

Valorant not released in China and Oceania teams would have to qualify via APAC slots.

honest question, how is there a ranking system for china then?

Because it's our own (VLR) personal ranking system, not Riot's.

they play on VPNs, the game isn't officially released in china, but some risk it anyway

Wait seriously? Then how are orgs investing and how are their tournaments there? Like isn’t everything technically illegal?

Underground shit. But it seems they are gaining traction and support with the help of Riot/Tencent.

Oceania region (australia, NZ, etc.) Are part of the APAC overall region, so thus ORDER has a spot rn in the APAC playoffs that can get them to Masters

also if Valorant isn't out in China how are there actual chinese teams and regions/tourneys?

Oce only gets 1 APAC slots, shouldve had 1 more imo or have its own direct qualifier. At some point oce val will need a point to improve and gain experience at a top LAN level

Australia is a part of APAC, but still gets done dirty. No reason why OCE shouldn't get multiple teams. Might change when NA orgs start taking our spots for franchising but I doubt any of the OCE teams will get any chance for awhile.

Yeah kinda sad that OCE gets only 1 spot, they should atleast get 2 spots.

AUS only had one chance last qualifier and almost made it through (close loss to a strong team)

the odds are stacked against us though (only 1 team goes to last chance compared to the 3 from every other region)
