and the first comment is someone saying to the thread poster to use the word ,,woman" instead of ,,female" ,then i proceeded to explain why i use this word ( its due to the fact that when i talk about a female my age (17) it feels weird refering to her as a woman, especially since in my country at least people use the word woman to describe full grown females, like if you talk about a 16-19 yo female and refer to her as a woman, people will look at you like a pedo, so therefore the term ,,female" is more inclusive and easier to use).

and then just because i used the word ,,female" ,some idiot called me an incel. Like holy shit, i get that there will always be stupid people in this world but when i see people who genuinly believe ,,female" is an offensive term,i cant help but look at them and ask myself ,,what is wrong with these people? how can someone have a rational capacity set so low that they believe a scientific term used for so many years is now offensive just because some radicals on twitter decided so? the brain of this people,what is it filled with,fucking air?"

if i talk directly to a female and she tells me to refer to her as a woman,if that female is 20+ yo i have no problem doing that,but its truly hilarious in a very sad way that theres so many white knight males telling other males how ALL females should be reffered to.

can work, but then again i dont see why a word with no offensive meaning should be considered offensive and why it should be avoided just because a limited group of females feels offended when you call them that. What does respecting women mean to you,because if someone would tell me the word male is offensive, i would call him an idiot, does that mean i dont respect males?
If respecting women means changing my vocabulary because some limited group of people managed to convince an entire zombie horde that a scientific term is somehow sexist, then you are right, i dont respect women, and i dont respect anyone.
But then again thats not what respecting women means to me. To me that means showing a person of the female gender the exact same human decency i would show to anyone else, which i am doing.

Why don't you just respect what people find offensive? If some women are offended when they are called "females" than why don't you respect their opinion and call them what they want to be called? Who are you to decide what is acceptable to be offended at and what is not? You aren't a women and yet you think you can decide for them what is offensive to them. some people don't like the idea of constantly having to worry about what each person wants to be called. you can't tell by appearance anymore. if you call them objectively factual things such as their biological sex, you're wrong half the time. if you correctly gender an individual and then use the term to describe that gender (female), youre being offensive. people dont want to have to do all that work just so someone can be called what they wanna be called.

Theres very little open-mindedness from either side of this argument.

It's literally not hard at all...using the terms girl and woman is an unbelievably easy thing that you can do to make people more comfortable. It's just changing two words in your vocabulary. Also, I don't think most people that are androgynous expect you to correctly guess what to call them. After they tell you, just respect them and call them what they want to be called. Do you struggle with nicknames? If someone told you they would rather go by a nickname than the name on their birth certificate, do you constantly worry about what to call them? I really don't understand what is so difficult about it that prevents you from doing it.

Because no matter what you say there is always going to be someone who disagrees or feels offended of what you said,and caring about how my words affect other people is to much of an effort for me.
If i am talking to a woman and she tells me to refer to her as that instead of female, of course i would do that. I have never seen someone genuinely offended by using the word woman or girl. The argument of "everyone is always going to offended by something" is stupid and people use it to avoid having to change anything in their behavior or vocabulary to accommodate someone else. And if one person is offended by it? Then call them by their name or some shit. I am so tired of people acting like them having to avoid the use of an offensive word is an enormous ordeal and changes their whole life. How is that too much of an effort? It's literally the bare minimum of respect.

2) I'm glad to hear that you would call someone what they ask to be called. That is the only thing I am advocating for. I don't think we should ban words or censor things, I just think that if we can make people more comfortable with our language than we should. I'm not speaking for the every women. In my previous response, I said that some women get offended. Since some women have a problem with "female", than I think we can use a word that is seemingly not offensive to any of them.

3 and 4) I think my main problem in this area was that you said, " if someone would tell me the word male is offensive, i would call him an idiot". To me, you seem you have clear ideas on what should be found offensive and not offensive, but I'm glad to hear that you call people what they want to be called. My only point was that you might not understand why those women were offended and to them it is very much not idiotic.

Anyways, my main thing is that we should call people what they want to be called and respect people who are offended by a certain word. You seem to do that. I hope you have a great day :)
