For the players, it's the same thing as why anyone would continue to play if they won Masters or Champions - just more money, a legacy and then the additional bonus for GC players is joining the Franchise rosters in a coed roster so they stand out.

GC was meant to be a funnel system, but it's not really working as intended since one player has made it to Tier 1 and that was a monumentally dominant florescent. There are definitely players who could get on a T2 or lower end T1 roster, but they get crowded out by the young prospects coming through
