The first week of VCT EMEA Stage 2 has completed, with 10 matches being played.

The week showcased EMEA's currently incredibly competitive field, where it feels nearly every team can beat one another. With no clear front-runner in terms of Champions points, every win in the group stage matters.

Surprisingly, Karmine Corp was the only team to go 2-0 in the week, taking down both Eternal Fire and GIANTX in 2-0s. This is in stark contrast to their Stage 1 performance, where an identical player roster went 0-5. The players cite the promotion of ZE1SH to head coach as a primary reason for their revitalization, as they've been allowed a much looser style of play that suits the crop of talent they have.

NAVI was another team that looked to have figured things in their time off, ready to make a late resurgence. With ExiT finally taking the VCT stage, NAVI dominated the recent Master-goers FUT in their first match. They looked ready to do the same against Vitality, taking map one in similar fashion, but maps two and three were solidly Vitality's, upholding their status as the number one in EMEA.

While Vitality were dominant against EMEA opponents in Masters London, back home, they struggled to uphold the same prowess. While they took down NAVI, their second game against BBL was a massive challenge. They faced a 2-10 deficit in the first map, as BBL ran through them on attack. Vitality almost brought it all the way back from halftime, but stumbled at the end, losing 11-13 in the end. Map 2 was a similar story, as they again went down 4-11. Again, Vitality nearly made the comeback, but ultimately fell in another 11-13 loss.

A team that did successfully forge a comeback was Team Liquid. After getting stomped in their first match against Eternal Fire due to playing without nAts , they found themselves down 11-2 in their second match against Heretics. Round by round, they brought it back all the way to overtime to take the map as their own. Riding that momentum, they also took map two to grab a win against the reigning EMEA champions.

After the week of play, Cloud tops the rating charts, making his debut on FNATIC in a tough 2-0 over GIANTX. While the historic titans of EMEA have had a rough year so far, they still have a chance to redeem themselves with a run to Champions.
