i'm not chinese, and wangchuran is very popular outside china. I've voted top chinese actress on another webboard. Wangchuran and Baosangen are clearly the top 3 in almost every poll.
I also think she's gorgeous, but in my opinion Zhou Ye is the prettiest. Maybe since I'm a girl, my taste in beauty differs from men's.
I watched her latest series where she plays a soldier, but I stopped at episode 20. The story moved too slowly and was very boring

I’ve never watched BL, I was just joking. But if I’m being serious, The Untamed is the most famous Chinese series of the 20th century in the Chinese drama scene. China can only really sell historical costume dramas, in modern settings they can’t compete with Korea. Meanwhile, Japan’s web series plots beat China easily, and when it comes to BL, they lose to Thailand. Only The Untamed comes close to competing
