player Jung "Foxy9"
Jae-sung (정재성). VARREL's announcement stated that Foxy9 is joining the team for its EWC campaign, but has not shared if he will be with the team past that.
"I've finally joined this VARREL team that I've always watched from behind!" Foxy9 said. "As you all know, our team is a team that's really fun and shows hot play, right? Now I'm going to give you a boost and show you a growth drama that goes up to the next level. Please keep an eye on our progress!"
Foxy9 has been competing for VARREL through Stage 1 of the Pacific EWC Qualifiers, helping the team to wins over

In Foxy9, VARREL has the chance to add some stability to a team with agent pools that may have been considered too flexible for VCT. After going a combined 0-8 in Kickoff and Stage 1, the team adds a Sentinel player with a proven track record in VCT.

days. Foxy9 was benched two games into the team's Masters Tokyo campaign in favor of the veteran Zest, and did not see the stage at Champions Los Angeles. He remained with the team in 2024, a season that saw the team make several roster moves, highlighted by the departure of longtime icon
stax
. At the time, Foxy9 was most known for playing the Duelist role heading into the year, but took on the Sentinel role, playing Killjoy and Cypher more. As the season progressed, his agent pool expanded to include Initiators such as Breach, KAY/O, and Gekko.
In 2025, Foxy9 joined Gen.G, stepping in to fill the big shoes left by the departure of Meteor . The season with Gen.G began with heartbreak, as the team narrowly missed out on qualification for Masters Bangkok. The team rebounded by finishing second in Stage 1 to qualify for Masters Toronto, where they finished 5th-6th. However, the year ended on a sour note, as the Tigers ended the Stage 2 group stage in fourth, kicking off their playoff run in the lower bracket, where they only lasted one match and missed out on Champions Paris.
Foxy9 stayed with Gen.G through the offseason as the team's sixth man, but saw the stage for the team's first Stage 1 match as a Controller. Now on VARREL, he appears to be stepping into a seat more suited to his preferred role.
VARREL will continue its EWC Qualifier campaign against either Team Secret or Foxy9's former squad in Gen.G, vying for a winner-takes-all spot in Stage 2 in the grand final.
