i heard somewhere u can get in gc with diamond and most playyers are like immortal
minimum rank is ascendant, majority are immortal but there are quite a few radiants, majority of main event/swiss teams have immo3/radiants on the team
isnt the minimum rank to play in open qualifiers plat 1? or did they change that
no you have to have been ascendant in the current or previous act to play OQ, and no teams with like genuine ascendants make it past groups

third party tournaments often have pretty low ranked players
open qualifiers are asc1+ and you need to have genuinely good players (immo2+) to do anything
obviously lower standard than the equivalents but the narrative that theyre all dogshit is false
none of the people in the games that are on rn are ascendant they're almost all radiants
well the games rn are the very top of EMEA GC so obviously they are not some awful players, but the average level of the GC scene is very low for a "serious" competitive scene
you still gotta understand that most of these people you're making fun of are top1% its just the skill gap between gc/low radiants to tier 1 is like 10x the difference between iron and radiant
I've diffed/been on an equivalent level to GC "pros" a bunch of times in TDM (basically every time I've played against one) and I'm gold3 peak. Obviously my raw mechanics are much better than that but that means a lot of GC pros are around Ascendant level
As a GC player, yeah theres a very small fraction of GC players that are radiant and they end up winning their regions alot like mibr, team liquid, shopify however from most that i have gone up against, its mostly ascendants/immortals
GC is a very top heavy scene globally and EMEA is the most mid region on it so its like watching a average T3 match
most of them are silver gold, just got carried to the minimum rank required by their radiant boyfriends
I use to fill for a lot of scrims - every time I played against a gc team they had great ideas and fundamentals but im dropping 30+ on them with agents i dont even play :/ . Not sure how the scene is now as im too busy to even play much less watch vct but 1.5 years ago there was a massive gap between any of the top 8 na gc teams and really any decent t2 team
There are some insane gc players though - I really think if you merged all the regions together into 1 it could be comparative to EU T1
the thing with gc teams is honestly they either have good shooters or have decent strats and 90% of the time its just a collection of shooters with horrible macro
