Hello all!
Today I wanted to ask the community, why are you all so surprised about the length Riot went to nerf Neon? I have seen many people, including some very humorous tweets, complaining that the riot went too far, but this confuses me greatly. As someone who has played Valorant for some time, I am very familiar with Riot's way of nerfing agents: they kill them. Every time without fail. Chamber, Skye, Yoru, Tejo, etc. All these agents were completely gutted and majorly stopped getting play until much later when they got buffed again. Now, whether or not I agree with this practice (I don't, but this does not matter for the sake of the argument), that does not change the fact that anyone with critical thinking skills and basic pattern recognition could see what would happen to Neon. Instead of recognizing that Neon is really only this strong because of an extremely weak sentinel and initiator class, has a high pick rate due to other duelists being nerfed (as well as the aforementioned weak sentinel and initiator class), and her main strength comes from the overpowered shotguns, not necessarily from the utility, you all have decided to whine and complain until you got your way.
So, again, I ask, why are you surprised? Why? What did you expect? Are you so idiotic that you believed Riot would simply change the way they do things? Or are you so hypocritical that you cannot even stand upon your own ideals?
