Hello all!

Today I wanted to ask the community, why are you all so surprised about the length Riot went to nerf Neon? I have seen many people, including some very humorous tweets, complaining that the riot went too far, but this confuses me greatly. As someone who has played Valorant for some time, I am very familiar with Riot's way of nerfing agents: they kill them. Every time without fail. Chamber, Skye, Yoru, Tejo, etc. All these agents were completely gutted and majorly stopped getting play until much later when they got buffed again. Now, whether or not I agree with this practice (I don't, but this does not matter for the sake of the argument), that does not change the fact that anyone with critical thinking skills and basic pattern recognition could see what would happen to Neon. Instead of recognizing that Neon is really only this strong because of an extremely weak sentinel and initiator class, has a high pick rate due to other duelists being nerfed (as well as the aforementioned weak sentinel and initiator class), and her main strength comes from the overpowered shotguns, not necessarily from the utility, you all have decided to whine and complain until you got your way.

So, again, I ask, why are you surprised? Why? What did you expect? Are you so idiotic that you believed Riot would simply change the way they do things? Or are you so hypocritical that you cannot even stand upon your own ideals?

except the agent isnt dead and will still see play, the agent would have been still incredible against stronger sentis it just would have made her site execs weaker (which is literally 1/3 of the reasons shes so strong rn, shes macro warping for attack side because of her ability to reclear space without investing utility, in the same way yoru tps were macro warping for defense side with the ability to basically play 3 on each site) the jump nerf was objectively needed and she will almost certainly still see play just not be a meta pick on 7/7 maps in the pool

Neon will get the same amount of playtime Yoru is getting this stage. The lack of sprint refresh on kills w/o ultimate is GUTTING. You get barely any sprint time and you cannot break crosshairs anymore, i’d say you’re even MORE susceptible to getting headshot now than regular agents.

after playing the new neon, i doubt many ppl will play her anymore bc her biggest strength was her ability to take space and gain info by using only her sprint + jump, she cannot do this anymore as she is way easier to kill.

neon will def drop to yoru's pickrate next stage

I don't understand why people just copy and paste others' posts in the comments. Is this a bot, or do you really have nothing better to do?

neon isn't dead tho
it just means there's more diversity in the dive duelist role rather than quite literally almost every game having a neon

I dont get why they didnt just take the jump away, just make it so u cant when u run

That’s essentially how you have to play her now, jumping slows you down

Exactly, just remove it at that point tho, why even make it an option of its useless

it allows selfless neon players to still jump for their team with the possibility of sliding at the bottom of the jump if they still have it

I lowkey just wish they nerfed her overall movement speed while running and jumping a bit along with the recharge, neon movement was so fun to watch and now its just impossible :(
