Personally, make inits like essentially info agents, that at least one part of the kit at minimum allows for info gathering either boolean, positioning, identity, ot both
And, balance init cooldowns because 1 kayo knife is not equal to 1 skye flash or 1 breach stun to all have the same cooldown
We saw it worked in 2024s gekko

Yeah their only value is on defense with zero attack value. And teams dont play them
They're almost useless on attack which is whats killing their pick and winrates.
And their use on attack is suboptimal compared to their competitors in Viper and Astra

Almost null id say and no flank tripping isnt real value cuz then you could say just play astra at flank and since her stuff is global she is a superior trip that cannot be tricked
At least with pre nerf vyse she had value. Post nerf doesnt

Skye flash is allowed to be as good as it is bc a team heal takes up an ability slot

But yes I agree scouting should be a core identity of the class

Im just comparing signatures to eachother
Because if you're going to put them all on the same cooldown, you need them to have similar if not same value
I dont think a kayo knife is equal to even 1 skye flash

But again it's not a one-to-one comparison.

Think of it this way. Every initiator has three, sometimes four charges of abilities that are used to proactively challenge space, with at least one recharge (except Tejo bc he sucks)

Where Sova gets two shock darts, Kayo gets a molly, and Fade gets a seize, Skye instead gets a second signature charge, plus a team heal to offset having a truly terrible drone ability.

The IDEA of it is right even tho the flash is fundamentally very strong. I'd be down for the range of the flash to be dramatically reduced so it can only fly like half the distance

I just feel like mayb changing it so that the skye flash can only detect players in a set sphere of influence like all the other initiator Abilities which all have a range limit of detection would be the valuable part. Limits how valuable the flash is and good positioning is selected for

Yeah I think halving its flight distance would accomplish that more elegantly, so it can only be sent around one or two corners instead of way out into enemy territory and clearing everything

Either that or change cooldowns or use numbers to give the non true recon agents value that allows them to clear similar amounts of space

if theres some info that can be added to breach info, it'd be like harbor's whirpool sound cue
making his stun mini ult but instead of making enemies off the ground several meters, it should be like a meter or less then add the step sound cue a bit loud (lore wise kinda make sense too with the mini-earthquake)

True, that is everyone but breach, like inits should always have recon in some form was my point
