I thought it was because of the org being Russian based, not that the players were Russian? It would probably be impossible due to visa issues in the current geopolitical landscape but if a team outside of Russia signed 5 Russian players I don’t think it would be an issue
EMEA teams are not signing new Russian talent since they can't get visas for them (Chiwa being a very good example)

correct me if im wrong but werent SLT Seongnam just kinda a premier team that got some random sponsorship going into ascension? Fullsense was the team that fully replaced an existing team and then just switched one or 2 players around
im aware. im pretty sure the reasoning for that was that SLT was either not an actual org and just a brand created by the team prior to winning ascension, or a not so well off org financially speaking which led to a real (semi) stable org picking up the players for probably league minimum salaries.
this wouldnt make much sensed for fokus or cgn to do since they already have their own teams that they are fostering in hopes of qualifiying

yeah but german talent is not good enough to compete in t1 they dont even make it deep in ascension with max 2 german players even in vcl dach there are only 2 or 3 teams with ful gemran rosters but a full russian team might be a banger imagine chronicle nats something fangeer and a russian ini player
