munchkin is the best korean igl in history and its not close. unfortunately he hasn’t been as good as he was in 2024 or even 2025 but there is no one to replace him.

valorant isnt recognised at the asian games so he will not be able to get an exemption

that is unfortunate
maybe he has a chance if he wins esports nations cup, but idk if it would be recognised

It wouldnt, asian games and olypmics are the main ones and for esports its only asian games which valorant isnt a part of

Who is igling on that Gen.G roster?
Klaus/karon/XuNa?

#11
archetype

Frags

likely karon. i wanted lakia instead of xuna and xuna to a different team but lakia is so cheeks its difficult to justify a spot

you could switch oonzmlp and klaus tbf and give igling to oonz

#16

I wonder IF t1 gets RB though since he looks like he is currently better than Tiltkin and he doesn’t even Tilts in the first place

#18

his igling needs to be proven he hasnt even played a proper international yet

#21

Im not saying they’ll pull out but one of them (likely NS) probably won’t be picked to be apart of the league after re evaluation next year

#23
hoboclap

Frags

Yeah they are most likely being replaced by Fearx or Dplus just due to viewership, maybe even HLE

#27
archetype

yeah but either way the rosters will find their way to tier1 somehow - these are the rosters i imagine for the top 4 korean teams

#63

I hope its DRX. GenG and T1 have more accolades and NS has more hype

#22

Im praying GenG and DRX are good in stage 1 to prove these haters wrong

#24

DRX will be alright and GenG seems to be in a bigger issue than everyone thinks

#25
hoboclap
0
Frags

yeah DRX are gonna be fine once Termi finds some bullshit meta abuse

But yeah, GenG im so scared for, if they dont fix their roles and lakia being uncomfortable on IGL, we are fucked.

#26

doesn’t matter because those guys will never win a championship, they dont have that dawg in them. i hope they prove me wrong though because i was a fan for almost 4~5 years

#29

current roster, maybe since Ash and Zynx shrivel up and fizzle out once they whiff, but t3xture and karon def have it in them to win. They just need good role players, and a hype man to counter the tilt.

#30
archetype

Frags

not geng, drx

#68
hoboclap
0
Frags

DRX can def win, they just need deeper strats. They legit almost won champs with just 1 strat, but fnatic learned how to counter it.

they have the players they need to win, its just up to the IGL'ing atp

#70

this has been the same story with drx since 2021 btw

#72

mako is the only remaining player, aside from an inconsistently benched beyn

#76
archetype
0
Frags

yet their results are the same. with almost every iteration of the roster the results have never been surpassed. meanwhile the ex-players and teams drx gatekept have already won trophies

they have had the players needed to win for 4 or 5 years but never have

Drx Ooz lmao

Also we're not forcing my boy Ken farm japan for 1 more year

+Karon igl.... son

#31
archetype

Frags

oonz is a better igl than beyn and mako, plus he plays flash initiator and can play yoru

karon igl is crazy but can work since karon has high game iq and solo/hsk are the staff, plus there are basically no good korean igls besides munchkin anyway

ken is not allat yet

#38

0
Frags

actually agree with this

#41
MrBlooBloom
0
Frags
+

well if he stays stuck in j0p0n he's not gonna get that much better, but he's still one of the top duelist prospects imo

Also I don't see Termi wanting to work with Ooz unless his style changes, and Beyn's calling will pbb become better than mako's long term so I'm not sure that's the kind of spot they'd want to change. The one on the chopping block is Free1ng and I think replacing him with Klaus or DH would be a great idea. Also have to see how much better hermes can become. I don''t think your rebuild idea has that much firepower honestly

#43
archetype
0
Frags

who is ken capable of replacing though? he has yet to properly prove himself in japan tier 2 yet everyone on his role has either proved themselves at an international level or at least an apac level. i agree he has potential but there needs to be more shown from him to justify replacing anyone on these rosters.

if termi doesnt want to work with oonz then thats on termi, as for klaus or DH they’re hypothetically on other teams. my rebuild idea only lacks firepower on drx - geng and t1 got firepower upgrades. but i don’t care because even when drx had firepower they didnt utilise it well because termi’s vision of the game has always relied more on utility combos than straight firepower - focusing on engagements has been a staple of geng’s coaching staff rather. focusing on clever execs, comp-based tactics rather than clean fundamentals and contact-heavy gunfight oriented gameplay has been termi’s preferred approach to the game but this is why drx has never won an international. id rather give firepower to teams that will utilise it.

lowkey would rather keep zexy, lp and xuna together on geng and klaus to drx

#50

not a bad idea tbh but i think klaus has fits better and has more potential in geng than drx

#64

realistically I don't think T3xture will leave GenG cuz he signed 'till 2027 obviously we don't really know what will happen with the franchising changes so who can predict what might happen, but I've said several times in the past that I would like to see Buzz replaced by some fresh blood so I think Ken could fit on T1 (granted these are big shoes to fit, it might not be realistic)

my rebuild idea only lacks firepower on drx

yes that's what I'm saying, the others are fine. Not that I particularly like DRX so idc but I'm just saying, if you wanted to maximize the potential for everyone that's not what it should look like

#65
archetype
1
Frags
+

if t1 cannot get texture the second best option is stew from jdg as he has expressed interest in joining t1 and this is a hypothetical roster anyway - either way if t1 want to move on they have access to a number of players before Ken

i’d rather consolidate talent on teams that are capable of winning than teams that consistently contend but never cross the finish line. as far as im concerned, maximising the potential on two teams is better than evening out the distribution of talent across three

#66
MrBlooBloom
0
Frags
+

except you could most likely do better than that by giving chances to top T2 prospects rather than recylcing T1 players here and there which doesn't make sense when some of them aren't that good

#69
archetype
0
Frags
+

that is quite literally what I did. this geng roster is literally 3/4 of the best tier 2 players in apac

the unfortunate reality is that your favourite player Ken is not going to be first pick for these teams because there is an abundance of players with more experience and similar performance in a more difficult league.

#81
MrBlooBloom
0
Frags
+

?they're not top prospects they're literally in T1
idc if it's Ken or another, korea has plenty of talent, but you didn't put a single prospect in these rebuilds

#86
archetype

Frags

varrel literally just ascended, as of right now they are basically no different from how they were in tier 2

it’s not possible to assemble a hypothetical roster for 2027 with prospects from 2026 when challengers has barely started

who would you rather have, young potential stars with some real experience, or fresh rookies from tier 2 who are untested? obviously you would want seasoned players over taking a gamble on unproven youngsters. you’re acting like the varrel boys are recycled tier 1 talent when they’ve barely spent time in Pacific. they’re the best tier 2 players in apac in 2025.

t3xture isn’t leaving his team until 2027.
HYUNMIN is the same, except his contract runs until 2028.
At the moment, the only duelist T1 could realistically sign next year is Stew.
But signing Stew would require a huge amount of money.

Seems people are very high on xuna, xross, and xiesta in particular.

Xiesta is gonna be 16 soon so he can only play challengers apparently.

What about Persia, isn’t he lft?

Hyunmin, Karon, izu, all on different teams is a bit of a shame, would be a truly next era sort of superteam without the old players from overwatch.
