Riot have announced the first big step in Valorant esports: the VALROANT Ignition Series. As per Riot's announcement, they have partnered with over 20 esports organizations across the globe to spotlight upcoming events in the competitive scene. So far two Ignition Series events have been announced, namely the G2 Esports Invitational and the RAGE Invitational.

The G2 Invitational will be played from the 19th to the 21st of June and will be streamed in English at twitch.tv/g2esports and in Spanish at twitch.tv/ibai. Players will also stream their own POVs on their respective streaming channels. The tournament does not feature a standard competitive format. Instead, eight team captains from across Europe will be informed of their teammates a day before the start of the tournament. These eight teams will go on to compete for their share of the €15,000 ($16,960~ USD) prize pool.

The RAGE Invitational will be played from the 20th to the 22nd of June and will be streamed in Japanese at openrec.tv/live/olry7gpkxr2. 16 of Japan's biggest esports organisations are set to compete for the ¥500,000 ($4660~ USD) first place prize.

Future Ignition Series events will be held in North America, Brazil, Latin America, Korea, Japan, South East Asia, Oceania, Europe, Russia, Turkey, and the Middle East. Keep an eye on the events tab for more detailed tournament information as it is released.
