how your favorite team can be in a region that you dont live in
unless its like pac and cn bc the timezones are close enough that you can still watch most games
how your favorite team can be in a region that you dont live in
unless its like pac and cn bc the timezones are close enough that you can still watch most games
Well if you become a fan of a team playing at an international then it makes sense
I can watch every region except americas comfortably
for americas I can also watch the first game generally
that makes sense actually
EST makes it basically impossible to watch anything but americas and maybe emea if you watch during work/school
thats... how favorite teams work...
otherwise why would anyone have a favorite team? its not like real sports where i feel obligated to support one team cuz they are from where i grew up, and theres not even any hereditary stuff like with real sports like a parent loving a team and passing that on to their kids, cuz esports (esp val) havent been around long enough for that.
I like a team cuz i like the players on that team and the content the team produces. for me been prx since I saw them play yoru in 2022
what... are you talking about...
favorite teams "work" by being in different regions? ??
obviously people watch for the players and not the orgs
but how can your favorite group of players be one that you can only reasonably watch occasionaly
by enjoying watching them???? what is ur logic bro, i like prx even tho i generally would have to wake up mad early to watch them... doesnt mean im forbidden from liking them. and that makes them my favorite cuz i am not at all attached to like any other teams. players sure, but not teams really
no one forbid you from liking prx???? no one is attached to the orgs themselves either... you just dont get what im saying. if you alter your schedule to be able to watch another region then obviously it wouldnt matter. if i stayed up till 3 in the morning to watch drx theyd be my favorite. thats just not realistic for most people. so the teams that i watch most are my favorites because i actually fucking watch them
idk why ur arguing abt this. ppl like teams cuz they like the team, its very simple
well there's no mena in t1 (i watch the t2)
so for t1 i just root for players i like
I watch every single region (except for Americas bcs why the hell would I watch them play at 3 AM in my time)
By that logic, football fans, for example, can't support Real Madrid if they live in Turkiye or Thailand. People can choose which VCT team they like off of what they watch. They either watch it live or watch the VODs/highlights. Sometimes it's not about supporting the team closest to where you live and instead supporting the teams which have the players you enjoy watching.
yes i apply my logic to real sports too
i dont get how your favorite team would be spanish if you live in thailand
watching vods dont carry the same weight for me
watching other regions live is impossible unless you dedicate your entire weekend + take friday off for it
Again, you can like the PLAYSTYLE of players even if they are not from your region. The VODs may not mean much to you, but for others, it is a lifeline to watch their team play even if the emotions can be predicted based on the result.
Going back to the football example, there is a reason why teams have a global following - people remove the identity markers like countries to enjoy what matters in the sport: the gameplay itself. Treating support to be only understandable when it's within your own region is superficial. Imports go to different regions and still provide the same quality Valorant.
no shit dude. you can enjoy watching teams from other regions. i never argued against that. im saying how can they be your favorite if you barely ever have the time to watch them. i love watching drx, but its only possible to watch them internationally because theres no way im staying up to watch pacific.
what does this have to do with imports? when ardiis was on nrg, i still watched them. when natank was on loud i still watched them. i watch current nrg with keiko. for esports its not about where theyre from. its about what is possible to watch
and as for global sports, again , you can enjoy watching teams from other countries. i never argued against that. but if im watching the world cup and its the usa vs literally anyone else, im rooting for team usa
I do watch all CN and Pacific , Americas I mostly sleep during the time and catch up the 2nd match mostly and EMEA bruh it's just boring apart from Nats
because i like the nationalities of other teams more than emea teams' nationalities
I don't know what your talking about I live in the US and still wake up at 3-4am in order to always watch drg play, real fans aren't effected by time zones and will still try to watch their favorite team play no matter what.
some people have the worst sleep schedules imaginable, and thus they can watch a little bit of everything. For instance, an emea game for me starts at 12am, 2nd emea game starts at 3am, while americas starts at 6am. I somehow get to still watch most of both.
cn, pacific are still my most watched though
