For me for the first time it was over the summer of ‘22 when PRX was making their insane run in Copenhagen, hearing they were a Singaporean team who played Yoru and so, as someone who lived in Singapore at the time and mained Yoru, I decided to follow it, watching the grand final, sad they ultimately lost the GF, but considering it’s the first non 3-0 masters gf it’s something. Left when I stopped playing valo for a bit (up to late early 2025

Then I got back in during PRX’s insane Toronto run and watched them beat Fnatic live and going insane

Do you know how many American teams there are, not just in Valorant but in esports in general? Many. That's the answer.

Now compare that to the number of Singaporean (or Southeast Asian for that matter) orgs who made it very far in PC esports. VCS is okay ocassionally in LoL but that's it (though they're Vietnamese I am painting a picture of Southeast Asia in PC gaming). Paper Rex making it to the finals was actually very big. Them winning Toronto even bigger, first Southeast Asian esports team to win a major international LAN.
