MIBR was coming off a heated 2-1 victory over G2 Gozen G2 Gozen Europe Rank #253 Akita Esllene Xu amy Amy Lai Vania Aleyna Keskin mimi Michaela Lintrup , which they snatched from the jaws of defeat by coming back from down 10-2 on the final map, while KRÜ capped off a dominant 2-0 win over Karmine Corp GC Karmine Corp GC Europe Rank #8 alkyia Azra Erin Jiex Şura Yıldırım anesilia Anastasia Ivanova safiaa Safia Leghzal Glance Anastasia Anisimova , dropping just nine rounds in the series.

The series was played out on KRÜ's pick of Pearl and MIBR's pick of Bind, and the decider was Split. MIBR GC won Pearl 13-6, and then won Bind 13-9, leaving the decider map of Split unneeded.

KRÜ had a 13-5 win over GIANTX GC GIANTX GC Europe Rank #16 , while MIBR suffered a 13-1 loss to Shopify Rebellion Gold on the map.

Both teams opted for double-Initiator comps on this map, with Killjoy, KAY/O, and Astra the commonalities between the two teams. MIBR went for Waylay as its solo Duelist, with Tejo to round out the Initiator pairing. Meanwhile, KRÜ went for Jett and Sova. MIBR started the map on attack and started off on fire, seizing an early 6-1 lead. The run forced an early timeout from KRÜ, but a decent defense half was still salvaged, as they won five of the last seven rounds of the half. MIBR's post-plant play was clinical, as it won eight of its 10 post-plants.

MIBR kicked off Pearl running through KRÜ.

On Pearl, it was the sayuri and melissa show. The Initiator pair combined for 24 kills on attack, and that level of performance persisted through the second half. Despite falling victim to a thrifty round to start the second half after winning the pistol, MIBR stood strong, winning Pearl 13-6 to steal KRÜ's map pick swiftly. melissa's 20 kills and sayuri's 18 went a long way in making the map an easy one.

Even before starting MIBR's pick of Bind, the outcome of the map seemed promised. Since losing 13-6 on the map to Team Liquid Brazil Team Liquid Brazil Brazil Rank #2 Jelly Julia Iris Bizerra Vitoria Vieira Joojina Letícia Paiva isaa Isabeli Esser daiki Natalia Vilela in its opening series of the event, KRÜ was untested on Bind. On the other hand, Bind is one of MIBR's strongest maps. The map was MIBR's lone win in the 2-1 loss to SRG, and was also won 13-4 against Ninetails Ninetails Korea Rank #10 h4ste Park Ju-hwi (박주희) .

MIBR went with its usual double-Duelist, double-Controller look with Fade as the solo Initiator, KRÜ went for a new comp. They kept dods as the solo Duelist, switching conir onto Astra instead of Brimstone, and shifting biazik onto Tejo. While MIBR got off to another quick start, the scales were tipped more even as KRÜ got into the match. With plenty of plant denial utility at hand, MIBR grew more and more desperate in its executions, losing the next five rounds and losing steam on a map that tends to lean attacker-sided.

After a chaotic end-to-end round, MIBR reaches match point.

MIBR managed to tie up the score by halftime at 6-6, making the opening pistol round of its defense half crucial. After converting the pistol round in 2v4 fashion, sRn already had a Raze Showstopper charged up, allowing the bonus round to be converted in flawless fashion. Proactive play, and overall star power from MIBR made attacking on Bind a headache for KRÜ. The MIBR players moved in unison, coordinating surrounding efforts that disrupted KRÜ's attacking plans. Bind was the map on which the stars were brightest on both sides. The teams erupted for a combined five 4Ks and six 3Ks, going blow for blow on a map that promises chaos.

After losing the first four rounds of the second half, KRÜ put up a strong effort to claw its way back into things, winning three of the next four, but crumbled once MIBR's ultimate cycle lined up. As is standard for the map, the battle was back-and-forth, and the MIBR players, as they typically have when the play gets chaotic, emerged from the dust and rubble to win 13-9.

After leaning on the likes of sRn and bstrdd for heroic performances in its previous matches, MIBR put up a well-rounded performance, with three different players logging 30 kills and four finishing with 29 or more.

With the loss, KRÜ finishes fourth, its best-ever finish at GCC. If MIBR wishes to exact revenge on fellow Brazilian squad Team Liquid Brazil, it will have to exorcise its demons from the past. In the lower final, a rematch of last year's grand final awaits MIBR, as it takes on Shopify Rebellion Gold.
