Cloud9 released a video discussing the reasons behind the changes and the future of the team.

Following Cloud9's loss to NRG NRG North America Rank #1 brawk Brock Somerhalder mada Adam Pampuch skuba Logan Jenkins Ethan Ethan Arnold that concluded their 2025 season, they began discussing changes to make for the following season. The team knew that they wanted to find an upgrade for neT , and held trials to replace him in the Sentinel role. Trials included a wealth of tier 1 players, of which zander , bang , satellite , BABYBAY , and eeiu were named. However, Penny was the one that emerged most favorable for the team, putting up strong performances on an agent pool that matched what Cloud9 was looking for.

The change for mitch was less certain, with Immi acknowledging his strengths as a player and contributions to the team. They planned to trial Sentinels Sentinels North America Rank #4 N4RRATE Marshall Massey Reduxx Yassin Aboulalazm johnqt Mohamed Amine Ouarid Kyu Mirel Braco Hrustemovic cortezia Gabriel Cortez ' johnqt for the IGL role, but it was Zellsis who stepped in and offered himself for the role. Zellsis was planning to stay with Sentinels, but had expressed a desire to transition into an IGL and caller. Having a strong connection and history with the team and the opportunity to lead, it was an easy decision for him to make.

“It came to a point where I didn't like where Sen was going, and I wanted to IGL,” said Zellsis, “and then now we're here.”

On the Cloud9 side, they had felt that in hard moments, they had been missing someone to “drag them out of the mud” when things got hard. OXY and Immi praised Zellsis as a very vocal and natural leader who is capable of being that person to bring up the team when needed.

Cloud9 already plans to debut their new roster in the off season at two upcoming tournaments. They will play in the Sentinels Invitational starting on November 6, and the Red Bull Home Ground qualifiers starting on November 13.
