10????? What is the purpose of her decay at this point 😭
Did Riot forget that at the beginning of the game her lack of threat in her util is what made her buns until they finally buffed it to do something? One snakebite, no picking up orb, double usage on fuel when both util is active, less fuel overall, now finally almost no decay in anything but the ult. Viper is essentially useless now. GG.
tbh I think it's cuz harbor is getting buffed, and they want him to be much better than viper so he gets played on the maps which need wall smokes
I mean teams don't really rely on her wall for stopping power but rather to facillate lurks so I think it'll be fine in pro play at least.
it still decays over time, changing from 30 to 10 at start is the least significant change of all time
besides her decay is almost pointless anyway, she's not used because of it, they could remove the decay completely and it would make no difference in how viable she is
It decaying overtime is pointless. That matters for the orb at best and that's assuming someone pushes through it while its up and it doesn't matter at all for the wall because no one stands in the wall. The initial decay was good stopping power to make people think before pushing past her util, but now its equivalent to getting a slap on the wrist.

Here’s some differences between beta viper (worst agent) and current viper (top 5 agent)
Beta Viper’s wall didn’t go through walls. Her Molly didn’t vulnerable. The decay started fading instantly. Her pit couldn’t be dropped. Her pit didn’t obscure the minimap. Her util decayed her own teammates. Her wall couldn’t be placed in buy phase. She didn’t start with 100 fuel.
These are things that ACTUALLY made her bad, not minor differences in initial decay
ofc all those things made her terrible, but truthfully what is the point of the initial decay if they're gonna make it this low? It's supposed to be apart of her kit but it feels more like a vestigial organ than something to actually consider. They keep nerfing her and essentially taking away her control power. I get she can still lurk with the vision obstruction but isn't the purpose of her kit supposed to be that she can lock down a site entirely on defense since they seem to be so against her being able to adjust and move her util?
When they first increased it to 50, yes that was way too strong, but this is just sad.
For the record, i'm not taking pro play into consideration because pro play is completely different than how some rando is gonna play the agent.
Well i don’t think balancing around ranked makes sense for viper because she’s fundamentally a weak ranked agent, not much different than the opposite of Reyna I guess. Also I wouldn’t mind if they took her initial decay out entirely. I think the whole point of her kit is that you can’t sit and wait inside of her smokes unlike other agents, and the decay over time is enough of a deterrent for that
Please stfu, as a viper main we got away with a SCRATCH. There is not a single scenario where this nerf matters at all, it's just so that we mentally perceive her as worse. Viper could've gotten nuked, and I am eternally grateful we walked into a gunfight and left with a papercut
viper got only one tweak yes, but it's in combination of everything else they have done to nerf her. It's like they want viper to be nothing but her ult and that's it.

until riot makes another good lurk agent like viper that denies a lot of info, viper will still be meta on bind, split, lotus and maybe even corrode
brother viper barely got changed 30hp to 10hp and most other smokes have much worse nerfs. This is good for vipers pick rate sybau
bro the 30 decay wasnt super important anyways, especially at the highest level
