he also played really well vs fnatic on fracture, they would’ve won fracture and not drop a map the entire tournament if it wasn’t for him 🗿
Map pool wise, EG schools NRG, and boostio was a better midrounder than Ethan. But the brawktagon and mada might be too much anyway

EG 2023 had the best player on the planet. NRG probably has better x's and o's. It's too difficult to compare teams from different eras in this game.
EG 23 is a top 3 all time, streets have forgotten prime demon1 gng putting up aspas numbers breaking kill records
we acting like com and boostio and everyone on eg wasnt ruined because teams didnt adapt around the way they learned (i mean the only team that shouldnt have IMO was lev since they had ASPAS)
eg 23 clears demon1 diffs mada and the only big threat is brawk
also this is HEAVELY dependent on the meta, this meta rn close game but 2023 meta eg clears
People are way overhyping this NRG roster compared to past champs EG 2023 clears.
NRG scraped and I mean scraped the barrel to get that champs win they had to have alot of things go right for that run.
Scraped against DRX, Scraped against MIBR and then Nearly losing the Bonus on FNC sunset would've prob lost them the game ( FNC tossed that round massively it was impressive)
It's cool they won as s0m got a trophy but that team is nowhere near the best ever.
they won like 35% of their pistols and didn't lose a game, hardest group by average placement by a lot too

The scorelines were extremely close and in a few series NRG had to pull miracles to win meaning in the FNC,MIBR,DRX games it could've very easily went either way and they were not dominant wins at all.
Aka the meaning behind scraping by this has been admitted by multiple top streamers.
Not sure what the "they won like 35% of their pistols" means, like okay great that is a great statistic but they lost the pistols because they couldn't win them making the series extremely close and needed alot of scraping by.
If we want to start adding random things into the talks like FNC throwing the map 5 bonus because of whiffs or s0m getting a collat inside of a smoke in OT against MIBR they still scraped by .
Doesn't mean they didn't deserve to win.
Pistols are 2 rounds for 1 and also pretty much agreed to be luck based in this both game and cs because there is less util and more deathballing and dry 50/50 fights taken, no team consistently wins more than like 60% for an extended period of time unless they're playing teams way way worse than them. A pistol winrate under 40% is abysmal and no one has ever won a vct event with a lower pistol winrate, it also means a lot of the close maps they had were not as close as they looked due to the lack of pistol wins.
Hilarious you're talking about throwing when grand finals was also only close because nrg choked super hard, they were up 11-1 on atk side abyss after a 13-3 and a 13-6, even then closed out map 5 (where they lost both pistols btw) 13-5. They had a +17 round differential, the second most lopsided grand final after geng vs th which was +18. The framing of the grand finals like it was some tightly contested game and not entirely nrg's to lose is patently ridiculous
nrg is the only team ever to win a champions without losing a single match how did they scrap
Sometimes I read replies and I regret it and not sure why I reply to stupidity.
Scraping by doesn't mean losing a series it means most of their series they had to win something crazy to end the series in there favor.
This has been admitted by FNS and is not difficult to understand yourself the green carpet of them not losing a series might show them being dominant but the scores line were not.
If you watched any of the DRX,FNC,MIBR series you would understand the margins were so tight it was very scraping by victories.
stupidity? man, nrg won 3 maps where fnc werent even close how is that scraping victories, both wins against fnc werent close, the win against drx had 2 comebacks but thats more on drx than on nrg and if anytthing the only close one was against mibr but mibr had a lot of close matches that they lost, meaning that their issue is closing out maps thus nrg won fair and square

So they had 8 games insanely close and needed some insane plays to make happen
Im done arguing as this is pointless but you need to wake up NRG won and did great but they scraped by alot of close games that should've and could've went either way but NRG always scraped by.

i think the main issue is that split pearl and fracture aint on the map pool anymore so its not really easy to compare both teams
It just doesn't make sense to compare because they do it for fun and then get tight when someone tells them they're wrong.
Noone actually cares who is better between EG 2023 and NRG 2025 because a few months after the event noone cares about either lmao.
