Harbor buff predictions

Riot games told recently they want him to make more initiator like so this is my expectation of what the buff will be:

  1. E Ability: The time it stays up increases by 5 seconds. Team slow is removed. Enemy passing through the wall is slowed significantly and also makes sound giving away the agents location.

  2. Cove: Blocks all projectiles until broken similar to Veto. Smoke remains for 14 seconds after broken

  3. C Ability: Completely removed. Add something which will help in stalling the opponents to hit the site

  4. Ult: Windup time to stun decreased by 0.02 seconds. You and your teammates standing in the ult gets healed. The diameter of the stun circle reduces.

I mean one of his ability is getting reworked as it was confirmed by riot themselves. I highly doubt they rework his wall, its fine just need a small buff. His cove is too iconic and unique to be removed and since Veto release I have a gut feeling they could be doing something similar to what veto does but instead of destroying abilites it simply blocks it

Now we are left with his C ability which has a high chance of getting reworked

If they're reworking any one of his abilities, I'm pretty sure it'd be his ult I'm not gonna lie. It's probably the least impactful AoE ult in the game right now

When did they say they were reworking an ability? Do you have a source on that? Because as far as I'm aware they just said "rework"

Actually nvm I misunderstood it he said in the DEV updates video that they are shuffling a few abilities and making you think before you use them. Interesting but he keeps mentioning cascade. Idk why, but i feel like that will be the one ability getting a complete rework. Similar to yoru where they only reworked one ability and buffed the others.

What I remember from the Dev Diaries is that they were gonna put in a huge ability patch like they did in 2023, as well as rework Harbor (no mention of individual ability reworks though).

From what I can derive from that, they're gonna rework the way you use High Tide, since it's a bit clunky right now. Not outright replacing the ability, just changing how it works

i think they remove his push walls for sure, hes the only agent with 3 smoke utils and viper is the only other one with even 2, viper needs it because her smokes are static and unflexible, but harbor could technically be fine to exec most sites with just his wall, his ult is fine to stay and his cove is the most recognisable part of his current kit imo, so to keep his identity but make a big change you want to change one of his 2 wall abilities, you cant JUST keep his 2 push walls so you basically have to keep his big wall in some way, now they could 100% change the wall but generally the push walls are the ones that should look nothing like his current ones imo

If the cascade was just a smoke I'd be fine with removing it. It's not, though... it's a tool for scaling the map and setting up the team. The idea is to gradually take space and then section it off momentarily so you have time to capitalize on the space it provides. It's also very powerful in defaults in combo with other utility... if you drone behind it, you get the same information in certain instances but protect the drone from being broken. You can flash in front of it or behind it depending on how you want to fight for map control. The fact that it can double as a smoke is only a benefit; at heart, it's a team-oriented Iso kinda wall.

It's arguably the most unique and team-oriented piece of Harbor's kit, so removing it just feels awful. Unless it's replaced with something at the level of Paranoia you're reducing his overall team impact, which is literally the only thing going for him

sure, but then what do you remove? at the end of the day the agent in its current state is a failure, its not picked in ranked or pro play really, its just not worth having in the game as it is, you could feasibly keep his cascades but i dont think a full smokes agent will EVER be good at a pro level and i dont think the cascades are something that will ever be taken advantage of in a ranked environment, unless they do like a fusion of cascade and cove merged as one of his abilities and add another? that could work i suppose, a cascade that scales up like a cascade but cant be shot through until its broken like a cove? basically fulfills the function of both abilities as their most commonly used, makes cove slightly worse as a plant/defuse tool but makes cascade better as a scaling tool, i think maybe some form of info gathering as his last ability would be cool, something sorta related to his ult like a very small scale kinda niche info tool, or go boring just give him a stun as his last, either works but i think the info one is more interesting and would give him a real unique place in the current controller meta since while many controllers have some kinda stall (viper brim, astra) or initiating util (omen, clove, kinda brim again with stim?) none of them really have any form of info gathering except loosely in ults through omen clove, i think that might make him too strong though since info util is so scarce in the game.
