Stupidity to think that 1 month of prep for champs alone and not showing much of the gameplay isn't better than some seeding lol. And I saw sliggy saying that seeding is more important and the time doesn't matter lol.

seeding only matters if every other team believe that seeding matters. if other teams dont care about seeding, then as a 1st seed, you can get matched with a 4th seed that's disproportionately good.

isnt sliggy always talking about how prep time is so important?

I saw someone ask in chat for apac game about t1 or rrq having more time to prep for champs alone if they didn't reach lower finals and that seeding don't matter as much but sliggy reply was that seeding matters a lot and that 2 weeks of extra time isn't as much of difference and that teams reaching lower finals will also prep for champs with that time.

But thing is the team that gets eliminated early won't have to care about any other game till champs and can focus all their attention on champs alone.

Okay so now it's prep time and not showing your gameplay that matters, but at Toronto it was having more games to warm up that mattered? Which is it?

Bruh that's the point in torento there wasn't 1 month gap and 4th seed got more time bcz most of them were eliminated before top 4.

Well seeding in champs has no advantage of a bye like in masters. And also the meta was vastly different between stage 1 and Toronto and first seed teams tbh didn't utilize that time well or at least didn't understand the new meta well enough.

Its been this way for years now but still everyone power ranks every team based on regional seedings: Oh Liquid won EMEA? They must be the best EU team. Oh BLG won China? They must perform the best out of chinese team.

FNC might still be trash just hold on. But still thinking teams will look exactly like how they looked in stage 2 is just wrong.

Seeding doesn't matter in CN because teams play completely different at home than internationally. We knew this from WOL doing bad regionally.

Seeding doesn't matter in AMER because there are no good NA teams. Verno is Saadhak 2.0, great at outcalling good teams, struggles against bad ones. Rest of the region is dog so they can't make it.

EMEA and APAC it definitely does, DRX just has BS narrative powers to always get 5/6th

It's dumb as fuck to change the mapool between Split 2 and Champ

  • Either keep same mapool on Split 2
OR (And this is my favorite solution but you gonna hate it)
  • Make champs a 9 maps event featuring every map we had during the year, if champs have to be the "Event that represent all the year", then the mapool should represent it
