Gamers Club has announced Gamers Club Ultimate #2, the second Ignition Series tournament hosted by Gamers Club and the second Ignition Series event for Brazilian teams. The tournament's main event is scheduled to take place between September 25 and September 27.
Teams will compete for a R$35,000 BRL prize pool, which is currently equivalent to just over $6,600 USD. That prize will be distributed between the four highest placing teams in the tournament.
Participating teams can qualify for the tournament through a series of open qualifiers followed by a single closed qualifier. A combined 24 teams will make it to the closed qualifier by finishing in the top eight of one of three single-day 128-team tournaments between September 14 and September 16. Those 24 teams will be joined by the top eight teams of the first Gamers Club Ultimate tournament in a closed qualifier on September 21 that will determine the eight teams to compete in the final bracket.
The first Gamers Club Ultimate tournament was won by Gamelanders Gamelanders Latin America Rank #5 who defeated Team oNe Team oNe Latin America Rank #7 in the grand finals to cap off a perfect tournament run. Gamelanders haven't competed in any major Brazilian tournaments since.
This tournament is one of a few September competitions meant to cap off the Ignition Series. The last North American Ignition Series event was Pop Flash held in August and the last European Ignition Series event will be the BLAST Invitational to be held this weekend.
Gamers Club did not indicate if this would be the last Ignition Series event in Brazil.
