Riot LAN Slot Fix

Hi vlr Community, im new here and wanted to share my opinion about Regional LAN Slots.

Riot Games should make it like in Football Champions League. The more successful a Region gets on LAN the more Slots they should get and Regions who fail should lose Slots.

It's unfair when Good Regions have to let their good Teams sit at Home instead of entertaining the Community on LAN.

Personally I think the way r6 does it is pretty good. A mix of global rankings + regional qualifiers, although hard to do early on

Global rankings at least you guarantee the top 4-6 teams worldwide to get in to the main event

EU should get 2 and split TR AND CIS up... so
EU:2
CIS: 1
TR:1
Take 1 away from LATAM and make them fight out of Brazil... and give it to OCE or something

Turkey by far the most viewership out of any country...

EMEA : 2

They have already changed the slots for next masters:
EMEA: 4 slots
NA: 3 slots
BR: 2 slots
SEA: 2 slots
KR: 2 slots
JPN: 2 slots
LATAM: 1 slot

BR 2 slots? why don't they just give the entirety of south america 3 slots i don't understand

Because Brazil has almost a half of south america population, so they prefer to separate it in 2 regions

yeah makes sense ig, they have 1/3 of the population, but i just don't know why they have double the slots of LATAM. probably won't make much of a difference

We have half of the South American population so we usually play on different servers. Also, we have some differences in culture and language. In order to make an analogy, It's similar to USA x MEX

Honestly, I feel like Berlin slots are fair, only, perhaps, giving 3 slots to japan+ SEA instead of 4 and giving this extra spot to EMEA. If they continue to do this for the next masters and after champions reevaluate considering the results it would be nice. The only big change I would like to see is to remove region slots to champions and simply the top 16 teams from masters should qualify, though I get that the pandemic guide Riot decision in 2021, but 2022 they could change it

I do agree with you, but I think that they deserved a chance to prove us wrong. It's too harsh to decide the future of one region based on 2 series on the first international

Yeah, 2 slots for NA and EU is not NEARLY enough. Especially if BR also get two... I can name 5 teams from both NA and EU that didn’t make masters that would still easily outclass the other regions (100T, Envy, C9, Faze, XSET, NRG, FPX, Acend, G2, Guild, Heretics, etc) just off the top of my head. It’s a shame we don’t get to see more of them compete against eachother. After seeing Masters so far, literally all of those teams and likely more would easily smoke the smaller regions that made it.

I’m glad they’ve already announced the next masters will have 4 EU and 3 NA teams. That’s a start in the right direction.
