What you suggest is weird. That would mean that g2 gets the better deal from this. Given that they will be promoted forever to league. Although you could argue that winning gives security to the players, I would imagine that knowing this, both teams would troll finals trying to get second place. Don't know for sure how it would end out tho
I could see riot doing a swap with one of the higher placed ascension teams (For example if G2 win and Guard come 2nd they will just Partner G2, promote Guard like normal, and De-partner C9)
Riot will never deviate from their standards unless C9 actually did something bad that is worthy of being dropped from Franchise. Riot needs to be fair with their process otherwise, they are just showing favouritism to teams.
Its not a real franchise league though.
The orgs paid no money to get a spot and Riot have said they can departner whoever they want. In fact orgs are getting paid from Riot to stay in the league (already 300k from Lockin Skins).
They wont departner for performance alone, but if an org doesnt try to stay competitice and has bad performance it could happen
