Will EU league be more interesting than Americas?

In the Americas Loud and NRG seem to be locks. Only 1 spot is left. Teams like Lev and Furia seem like favourites for the spot.

In Emea there are 2 locks too with FNC and NAVI but for the 2 spots left you couldnt name clear favourites. Sure some might be a bit ahead of others (Koi, vit, giants). But its entirely possible for everybody in the league (except heretics) to qualify.

Doesnt that make it crazy interesting? Every match matters?

I feel like in americas Furia vs EG or Lev vs Mibr would be complete sleepers since its so predictable.

Discuss.

If you consider EG a "good team" (your words not mine) then VIT, FUT, KC and GIA are also "good team"... Yall act like every EMEA team got eliminated round 1 except for FNC and NAVI. Also KOI did great against one of the best teams in the world (NRG).

every americas team besides mibr and kru (wasn't really impressed with them) have something unique about their playstyle that could give them the competitive edge over the other teams. i think loud and nrg are the most likely to qualify, but they're not guaranteed. i could see realistically 6-7 teams qualifying to tokyo, while the other 3-4 teams can beat a few better teams on any given day.

when it comes to emea, fnatic and navi are pretty much GUARANTEED. it'll be funny seeing EMEA fight for the 3rd and 4th slots but those slots wont really be deserved imo since they're just not as good as the top 3 from americas and pacific and will probably lose their first match. the sad truth is that emea has 2 amazing teams and then a huge gap, bigger than any other region.

Well the thing is. NAVI and FNC would be guaranteed qualification in Americas too. Alot of the EU teams you saw play were newly formed too and TL barely practiced together. I'm a firm believer you only saw a glimpse of EUs actual level at LOCKIN

  1. Nrg and Loud are just as guaranteed as Fnc and Navi.

  2. 6/10 Eu teams didnt have established cores. Same number as all other regions combined.

  3. You really misrepresent the performances of eu teams: Fut nearly 2-0'd 100T, Koi played 2 close maps vs NRG, Giants won a map off NRG, KC played 2 close map vs Loud, BBL took a map off DRX. Vitality went triple OT vs Lev which was hard to mentally recover from plus vit new core vs lev being established. Only Heretics and Liquid truly sucked. At next Masters you will change your tune. Eu sucking is an alpha bracket myth.

i had a huge thing written out but my fucking browser refreshed 💀

just imagine i said something really thought provoking here i'm too lazy to type it again

but i trust your judgement so maybe i'm wrong and emea isn't a 2 team region, but that's also to say Americas isn't a 2 team region either, there's a lot of amazing contenders to being good if they get the chance to play more

Im not arguing against americas level of play. Actually i believe the two regions are incredibly equal these days. People here & reddit just seem to downplay EU since they 1. lack big brands that are well known in the US 2. Had The new cores 3. Narratives were kinda established in the first bracket already. Perceptions were made through that biased lens.

Way too early to say. Its impossible to say what peaks teams like Liquid, KOI, Giants, Vitality can reach with time. While teams like KC, FUT, BBL showed some potential at least more than what I was expecting. I feel like EMEA will benefit a lot from regular season with all these new lineups and new players coming from tier 2 etc.
