In germany there is doener like this on every corner its a standard here. (This doener is not a special one there are better ones, i can tell that doener in germany is better than in turkey. I am german-turkish and the meat quality in turkey is really bad. I've been to diyarbakir izmir, aydin, istanbul and many places, i speak good turkish and know good food and saw every place.

So the youtube video above shows a normal german oldschool kebap u can get on every corner. This is how we eat our doener.
Its really good

//and yeah in turkey u dont have sauce like in germany, i hope they have it one day.
Turks eat kebap with onions tomatos a bit green. But no garlic sauce like we do.
Doener in germany and in turkey is super different

ye i was writing that, u prolly talking about German version indeed, but saying döner in Germany is 1000 times better than turkey is delusional KEKW. U prolly dont know where to eat döner
edit: I lived in Germany too lol.

I've been in the best iskender restaurant in izmir, and yeah its really good but the quality got bad over years. Ofc some turkish kebaps are better in turkey but the doener sandwich in germany is really good and we love it. Btw u cant compare this 2 meals,
Doener is Fastfood and Iskender is not fast food.

I was in Istanbul last year too on the best places, i repeat again. The meat quality in turkey is insanely terrible. If i eat steak in germany in a bad restaurant near petrol station. Its cleaner and better than in istanbuls best place. I saw all sites, fatih besiktas everything. U cant eat meat in turkey and thats a fact!!! So dont lie to me

Istanbul is the WORST food place in Turkey you can ever go to. EVER. Thats why u dont know what ur talking about
I agree about meat quality, but again its a fact of Istanbul only, Eastern side of Turkey eg. has great meat.

but it doesnt hold everywhere, it only is a fact of Istanbul, maybe İzmir and Ankara some places but doesn't hold for everywhere

no its "döner kebab" (- sandwich) and just as much of a kebab as whatever you think of when you hear kebab
there's no one true kebab, just look at this monster of a list trying to summarize all of them xD https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kebab

yep it's so common.
off-topic: actually my parents discover the döner kebap in my local city w/o the mayonnaise sauce.
when they closed the place, the chef gave the recipe of the garlic sauce to my mother, delicious for someone who liked the garlic flavour.
simple and tasty
btw. the guy was syrian

I'm not talking about how the meat is prepared or what stages it goes through, basically both are meat cooked vertically.

yeah but one is pork and the other is beef. And imo beef needs to be good quality and not done/well-done. Whereas pork is just as good, if you get my point.

(i eat kebap as well)

imo it always smells good and I get baited into buying it and then end up disappointed, because I don't find it very tasty. I think it's pretty overrated

Best kebab I ever had was in Korea and not in Turkey(place was owned by Turks tho), it was quite expensive for a kebab place(10 USD roughly) but it was gorgeous.
