Did C9 play really well or were PRX just so bad?

I've just finished watching the vods and one thing I noticed is that C9 played fine, nothing out of the ordinary or special.
I wouldn't count Lotus as it's a new map and it was just deathmatch most of the time, but on Pearl they were overly agressive and almost threw some rounds with some bad decisions, except that PRX were way worse.
Maybe they just played risky and agressive because they're against PRX, if that's the case it slightly makes sense. But if not they should work on a couple of things, because DRX will definitely not troll or throw 99.9% of the rounds.

you could see some of the ideas C9 were going for

still you still want something to set him up like xeppaa's flash. Cuz there's no reason they aren't playing 3 heaven

It was an eco so all good. Plus I'm sure phoenix was on top of the wall too

but like there must be layers into that strat, because in gun rounds, without like xeppaa's flash to set him up on an angle, he's gonna get picked off. phoenix is there to protect him from mid

Yes they had some good ideas, but some decisions they made didn't make sense to me.
Like they pushed CT too many times in equal numbers or even having a number advantage and against ecos, unless they were thinking "fight fire with fire" and we'll see another face of them against DRX.

Yay didn't even have a good day by his standards, he played really good by normal standards tho.
So i don't think he was PRX's biggest problem.

C9 were prepared for Prx that they are going to pick Lotus and C9 lowkey aim diffed Prx

In the player conference PRX coach Alecks did say that practice had not been going well. Maybe they couldnt adjust to the new meta as well as C9 did

the problem with their playstyle is that it requires forsaken and jingg to always be popping off which makes it hard for them to be consistent as a team, one day they could look like the best team in the world, when jingg and forsaken pop off but then when they arent, they look like how they played against c9

prx played bad like really bad (forsaken in pearl was a jett in an immortal lobby just no comm running it down) but c9 also had some really good ideas and rounds also people are failing to notice how impactful vanity's calling was during this game, hes mostly the reason they won but also xeppa and leaf just werent missing shots so thats kinda unlucky for prx but players like mindfreak, forsaken and jingg were overheating WAY too much I get that its their whole aggressive style but theres literally no reason to fight when ur up a player but they still do and mindfreak... idek bro, he was getting caught out with his knife WAY too often and jinggg was overall like the only person who could string prx some rounds but he made a lot of mistakes on pearl too, overall prx felt like they were a new roster somehow while c9 seemed cohesive and structured to a certain extent

Totally agree on everything you said, C9 looking like the way better team there.
I just noticed some bad decisions on many rounds on their part, and I'm worried that if they do that against a team like DRX they wouldn't get away with it.

if drx are on form, c9 stand barely any chance but if drx look shaky like they did against bbl then c9 have a slight chance but tbh if xeppa and leaf keep up the same performance aand yay and zellsis step it up a bit then they could win

Drx shaky? It seemed to me that Drx was very on form, except on ascent but you can make a case as to how ascent is the Turkish map

It can also be said that BBL did play well on Ascent. Yes DRX did look quite shaky on that map but that's about it. I think DRX should know now that they are quite shaky so they will be prepared for C9 I feel

i can almost smell the 9-3 curse coming to slaughter drx. im terrified to the point of contemplating whether i should watch the game...

yeah they made mistakes that better teams would've capitalized on but thats prolly coz its their first matchup so not much to worry about

They didn't look shaky, 2 very convincing perfectly played maps.
On Ascent I'd give all the credits to BBL for their CT side, they barely let them have a clean exec and used their util really well with some interesting ideas and great individual performances.

haven map, bbl started to string together some rounds, drx usually would not make as many mistakes as they did today but even then drx are favored over c9

A little bit of both, but considering how PRX played last year it definitely fealt like PRX didn't have their typically cordinated aggression, it was more like a bunch of cracked radiants in a ranked game as they kept peaking and dieing one by one and to add to that we didn't get to see anything new from them

C9 was just reacting to PRX's playstyle that's why it didn't look any special. PRX looked extremely sloppy and indisciplined. The overall quality of the game is always going to be decided by how the worse team is playing. I personally felt C9 looked really strong individually and showcased great adaptability. Their team play was okay. The game vs DRX will give a much better idea IMO.

Leaf looked like a very good sentinal
Yay on sage sounded goofy but recently he has played slow/methodical agents unlike a traditional opper on Jett/Raze
Xeppaa looked promising on Skye
Vanity wasn't washed
Zellsis actually had a rough time on neon but took alot of space and baited himself for greater team opportunities

Leaf has always been one of the best players in the world, people just forgot that since c9 weren't that good in the past year, and Xeppaa's comfort agent is skye, so I wasn't surprised.
They're all very very good individuals, I'm talking more about some unnecessary agression and decisions by the whole team.
