Former cheaters in the Val Pro Scene

I just found out Babybay used to cheat a few years ago on CSGO under the alias “Flex.” Since then he played in both OWL and VCT. I was wondering if there were any other former cheaters who are in the Pro scene now, since I wasn’t invested in eSports back when CS was huge.

he was unbanned because he never cheated during official matches and it was over 5 years ago. Those were the new rules.

I mean the kid was like 13, you can forgive him if he did have cheats back then. I personally don't mind jamppi, I think he's a great and super likeable guy. I do think he cheated when he was 13 but I think valve treated him way too harshly. Their loss.

Here's the backstory if you don't know it: Jamppi was rumoured to join OG with aleksib, but since he has a VAC-ban from his old account that was given in 2013, he is not allowed to participate in Valve tournaments (minors & majors).

What makes this situation odd is the fact that apparently no one is sure if it's in fact Jamppi who cheated, or someone else after the account was sold.

I get that cheating is illegal, but if it happened 6 years ago, wouldn't that be enough of a gap? Forsaken got banned for 5 years, and his cheating was clear as day. And Jamppi was 12. He wasn't even thinking about becoming a pro player, if he even cheated himself. So what's the problem?

valve had a 0 tolerance for cheaters, also selling accounts is against steam tos so valve wont take that into account

The whole "once a cheater always a cheater" thing is so unbelievably stupid.They love to forget that people like S1mple cheated in the past. Not even just account selling, actual cheating. People can change. And as if none of us never did any stupid shit when we were 12.

Nah I am serious, Tricked has been lowballing us and trying to sign us for extremely cheap, but seeing as my players need actual good salaries to be able to survive in the current inflation in Denmark we have decided to take their offer as a backup seeing as we would be kicked off Polaris if we do not sign with an org before June 2023. I would rather let Tricked in as our replacement than most organizations, they would ensure that Danish talent have a place to prove themselves and develope. While they give shit pay, they still do develope talent extremely well.

To be fair, I'd say babybays tenure within top level OWL and to a lesser extent VCT do redeem the CS Vac ban from 2015 is a very long time ago is kind of irrelevant from a legitimacy assessment since its kind of impossible to play at a tier 1 level under as much scrutiny as early OWL without an extensive background/ integrity competitive check.

Still can't believe it's 2023 and people like / fanboy Marved. This kid was matchfixing like crazy on CS:GO and very blatantly cheating. Horrible movement, 0 crosshair placement and yet constantly hitting headshots, knowing where everyone is out of no info, etc... Just review any demo from him from CS:GO and you'll understand Esport is a joke.
