Its so fucked how people with conditions who can't bring changes to their bodies should be the one talking about accepting their bodies but the whole meaning has changed into "unhealthy is a way of life".

#8

i think it's fair to make fun of people for something that they can control

I don't pay 15k USD for an ambulance, insurance covers it and it is relatively cheap (the only benefit of post-commie country I guess)

The point I'm making is the whole concept of accepting bodies was for people with condition but these ads are making it into something else like what carlos mentioned

Obesity shouldn't be advertised as this healthy thing, but I don't get what is some people's problem with this ad? It is just an ad of Calvin Klein brand and their clothes? Doesn't promote obesity as healthy thing or anything just shows that they have sizes for everyone. What is the difference between this or changing her with slim supermodel? Point stands in both only difference that more obese people are less likely to shop for brands like this that are historically more known for smaller sizes and image and they are trying to change that with ads like this.

#45

Its just very polarizing and draws a lot of attention = best pr.
Imo this is just about giving people with conditions, food addiction or disabilities confidence.

"Based" Carlos's whole shtick was wearing scarves on stage during his shortlived pro career, before he opted to be the "edgy esports guy" and then rebranded as an Andrew Tate clone (worked out as well for him as it did for Sneako btw)

Actually a cringe waverider doing anything to make a name for himself and stay relevant other than having a talent.

just an incestial offspring of tate.
from a guy who was once beloved and celebrated in the esports community, its sad to see him dig himself deeper and deeper into this shithole of a "personality"

Advertiser’s job is to advertise to as much of the population as possible

When half the population of a nation is fat, it makes sense for the company to advertise to fat people

It’s not “woke bs” it’s basic logic

#28
Neonfreak

Everyone mad at this is mistaking this ad as "promoting obesity" when it is really promoting clothes for people with obesity. People that are obese still want to look good and they still have to wear clothes. So of course they will run ads with plus size models to cater towards that audience.

When people discover that fat people have jobs too so they have money to spend AND also need underwear.
Crazy to think that fat people also need underwear and hence, companies advertise to them.

More funny is that they think they're correct.

This advertisement applies to fat people meaning they can also buy underwear of any size. It's nothing but a marketing move.

In my country it would be a bad marketing move, but in Western Europe and North America, there's a lot of fatties and a lot of wokeness, so...

#42
KyLZi

It is unhealthy to be fat but companies don't care they just want to sell more plus size underwear and obese people are the demographic.

That’s basically how 75% of black females in America look.

Being “thick” is glorified in their culture. Most black woman wouldn’t even really consider her fat. It’s a weird cultural thing in black America.

#51

i believe everyone should be ridiculed and made fun of for their own choices if their choices are stupid, but i think bodyshaming an individual for their appearance is kinda childish. if someone has a disability or condition which causes them to be heavier, they shouldn't be ridiculed for that.

but i agree, companies shouldn't be promoting the CHOICE to live an unhealthy lifestyle and this billboard is doing exactly that.

Lol I am 100 kgs overweight af 2 weeks in I left sugar and fried food completely. Already feeling much much better unless it is a disorder or something US companies just normalising obesity by saying it is fine, everyone knows obesity decreases your quality of life and also number of years you live. If you just bring adds like these people will never workout.

Model is fat = promoting obesity

Literally nothing wrong with the ad, it would be the same thing even if it’s a skinny girl.
