looking like V1 v BBG, going to be one of the MUST WATCHES of this tournament.

V1 is just built different. Better aimers, while BBG is more strategical. V1 at least got Split on NV, BBG kind of just look lost right now even though XSET came to play. V1 2-0

2-0 V1, BBG can't keep up with T1 teams if they dont anti strat everything
Edit: 2-1 V1

They barely anti-stratted Sentinels, the reason they won was because they played good textbook Valorant and their fundamentals during the game was incredibly solid, and Sentinels looked painfully off-form.

They won because they knew who their ro16 opponent was like 3 weeks before the match happened, because of seeding. They definitely anti-stratted, even though in all honesty there wasn't a lot of stratting from SEN. This is because SEN's only info on BBG is the games they recently played against them (no vods of BBG), so they were left with only breadcrumbs. But yeah, SEN's aim was awful, and the current iteration of their team relies pretty heavily on aim duels.

Ok, that map was pretty rough for V1 and anyone who isn't named "Zellsis" or "Will", but Bind isn't their strongest suit anyways. They'll come back. I still believe.

Split is a good map for V1, I believe

i think version1 willl take this 2-1 considering how bbg only has 48% winrate on split and v1 has like 80% or something

No way V1 will lose split, this is wraps, ggs BBG, nexts time dont just study one team

If you watch Poach’s interview he said he they trained for Sentinals just as much as they trained for the other teams in the open qualifier.

isnt that what dig said about how they prepared for TSM? clearly it’s false

That’s some pretty shit logic lol but it is definitely easier to prep for bigger teams. Sentinels has so many vods of theirs out there, meanwhile bbg didn’t play on stream for maybe a month

yeah bro, i’m not saying fuck bbg, i’m just saying they tunnel visioned on sentinels, and good for them for beating them, but they also needed to review other team ya get me

I mean yeah, cuz of the shit seeding you know who your opponent is 3 weeks ahead cuz you know your seeding doesn't change, it's #16, and you know SEN is gonna win masters so like all they gotta do is just study how to beat SEN with TenZ. Also, another big part is that SEN couldn't study BBG back because of lack of vods. Both ways, preparation diff.

While certainly , it was mostly preparation diff, it didn't help that almost all of SEN simultaneously had some of the worst individual and team gameplay we've seen in a while.TenZ not getting any kill with his bladestorm first map and just getting a single easy kill in the second map. Sick whiffing few times , along with being unable to hit good shots like he usually does. Dapr for some reason going not going through with his most basic aggressive lurks to try and win rounds. The team lacking in literal fundamentals (which hardly has to do with preparing for the other team) examples being them not setting up the easiest crossfire possible in A in haven despite having numbers advantage and then losing the round due to that. The poach 1v4 which shouldn't have been won at all , but was because Dapr peaked on his own and walked into poach's crosshair , then TenZ instead of double-peeking ,peeking on his own with a sheriff against a phantom especially on a day where he isn't hitting his shots. And then Shahzam trying to take the duel with Poach instead of waiting for Zombs' paranoia to run out and and staying deep in the angle instead of coming out of it and giving poach the fight he needed.
They also had some lucky moments such as in Haven where BBG had absolutely no info on who is C but had info that there's someone in garage in a particular round ,and despite after scouting that A is completely empty , still not hitting the site for... ? some weird reason , Zombs was in A but they missed scouting him , and dapr too , barely , but based on the info they had , they should have hit A , instead of going C , but they hit C anyway .
Another instance being shahzam for some reason staying so far away from Sick's ult instead of being close and protecting it , Rarkar got a free kill on Sick simply due to that , another elementary mistake which has nothing to do with preparing for another team.
BBG on the other hand had some of the best individual gameplay they've ever had as individuals and as a team. There are so many more instances of these kind.
The situation just aligned almost perfectly for BBG to win .

Yeah I agree, good reads are hard to do and sometimes it's luck which site you go to. Also, SEN was really bad, but it almost seemed as if they were not trying or saving strats like they've been historically memed to do. I don't actually think they were, but it looked sort of disorganized, and it's kind of on the IGL to sort of rally the troops and keep everyone's head in the game, but it looked like Shaz was off. Lack of effort really, too. If they had treated this game like it was masters finals, and gave 100%, the game definitely would've been closer. In this case, it's almost as if Shaz just said "yeah I don't really have a game plan for this team so let's just do our basic default", and then they lose a bunch of gunfights, and just mental boom and play afraid like it's solo queue.
