Why Riot has to run Swiss from now on

Riot needs to be running Swiss for all tournaments moving forward or atleast a varied format. At Champs this year Zeta got grouped, the two teams who advanced from this 4 team group? LOUD and Optic.

Zeta got grouped because they were unlucky enough to lose to the grand champs twice.

Swiss would eliminate unfortunate group placement like this and it's a format that drives a lot of high stakes.

Thoughts?

they starve all the teams, put them in a circle, theres block of swiss cheese in the center, and whoever eats it first wins

I think for kickoff they might just do what they did at Berlin when there were 15 teams, so 6 normal groups of 4 teams and 2 round-robin groups of 3 teams. To my knowledge, swiss wouldn’t work without some significant modifications

Having 30 teams is like the worst number

Groups of 4: You will always have an uneven spread of different franchised regions.
Though having the 2 extra group of 3 allows a nice 8 team playoff
