Dont get me wrong the system sounds good and having top orgs be in the highest league all the time is cool and all but come on, we have 3 regions. International tournaments just wont be the same, not at all man, they shoudlve kept 7 leagues or atleast 5 (the 5 LCQ leagues). Enjoy champions, the last time we see 7 regions and 16 honest teams battle it out to find out that 100T (tier 2 team) will bring the trophy home
Champions Istanbul will just be the best champs ever on paper, so many regions, very nice location, crowd, every team fought hard through opens and all to make it here

I could even agree with you but then we would both be wrong

correct me if i am wrong
the 10 franchise teams will try to get the best consistent tier 1 players, coaches, analysts from the region and the tier 2 teams will have players who are not as good as them so if they gets to franchise league through ascension series they cant defeat the franchise teams

yeah exactly. the level of play will undoubtably be higher on the global stage but its not all about performance. we are here to watch cool games, the fewest even understand the highest level of gameplay

" we are here to watch cool games"
example: tenz
lets consider sentinels does not get into franchsing
tenz leaves sen and moves to c9
then how many are gonna watch sen play?

still everyone because they have shroud and they were the by far most hyped team even before tenz joined? and what does that have to do with SEN and TENZ, im talking about the number of regions, we could realistically have a 12 team tournament with 8 teams being from NA or EU

When they get to franchise league they will receive money from Riot to get tier 1 players, coaches, analysts...

i get it they will get money to buy players
but are tier 1 players like tenz, derke, yay gonna stay in tier 2 if their teams does not get into franchising?

You can't give a spot for 4 years based on having a good player on your possession rn

they will just get poached

So what? Top teams with money get the better players with or without franchising? There's literally no way of preventing that. This system allows tier 2 to get up there and develop themselves as players, and I'm sure they won't place last anyway. (Proven teams are better than some teams that orgs will make just putting together random good players) But that's only speculation, my point is what you're saying it's unavoidable

3 league is so good rather than more leagues. It guarantees different regions within one league. If not BR teams will play BR teams forevr. KR/JP teams will play their respective regional teams only. This allow few BR, LATAM teams to play with NA teams weekly. Only issue is the number of spots per league.

yeah but no? Every region has guaranteed spots for international events so how are they playing their own region all the time?
I would have prefered it if they made 5 regions, NA, EMEA, SAM, South asia and north asia

they play their own region all the time except for the 2-4 series the majority of teams play on LAN every 2-3 months, compared to weekly LAN international matchups.

How many times did u see 100T play FaZe? But how many time did u see 100T play LOUD? U got only 3 events per year. But this guarantees the diversity weekly. DRX will play Zeta. PRX will play ORDER which we will never see.

yeah but LOUD is gonna play 100T every single stage. Im not saying the current format is good either, its far from perfect but the general IDEA of having 3 regions is kinda concerning to me. The first 2-3 years will probably be really hype but it will get old

i totally understand this, but I think that’s why Riot is recycling all the franchising teams every 4 years to avoid things like that. also im presuming similarly to LCS and the like there will be major amounts of scouting for talents to join the larger orgs (think of how many changes TSM made this split) so the player base will always be relatively fresh. Also making it so we are getting +3 teams a year till 2027 makes it even better in this scenario and I think it’ll make the overall scene so so much better after the first year or so

However, you may see it, it actually solves the problem of weak and strong regions.

NA+BR, EMEA and Asia combined actually are pretty similar in power. So instead of the either its EMEA or NA, now you will have 3 regions and anyone can win anything.

Moreover, the leagues within themselves will be much more entertaining to watch. Every game in Asia will be like APAC LCQ last year. Every game in American League will be a NA vs BR story. Can't say the same for EMEA. They have been the same so far and I doubt anything changes.

Teams like bbl, kcorp koi getting huge screentime with good rosters will be very fun in emea tho

delusional imo, they wont be in that similar in power:

  • Brazil has 1 elite team and latam 2 decent teams
  • No asian teams has won anything in valorant so far

And this is all of it taking into account EMEA which has by far the best players and the most amount of elite players, have their talent very spread between a lot of teams, if EMEA starts making superteams and has to get all their talent in only 10 teams then its not gonna be close at all

You are not accounting for the fact that it is because SEA teams only play SEA teams. If you have KR/JP and SEA play all the time they will definitely come out as a region larger than the sum of its parts.

EMEA on the other hand is really large. Ideally Turkey/CIS should be a separate minor region like KR/JP butb they are mashed into EMEA. That is what makes them stronger.

I think you're a very wrong dude, if the region can't keep up with the level won't make champions but still will have somewhere to compete. Also spots are basically auto-regulated, even attacks the one team region problems dude
