How the FPX players buy 2 vandals on second round if they win pistol, two ghosts and one guardian.
They go into the bonus round with 4 vandals and 1 guardian and thats why they win 80% of their bonus rounds.
Most teams buy spectras on second and then cant compete vs the Vandals on the third which is a lose round. But mastermind ange1 wants the team to win every possible round and it goes well (stats show it).
They changed the meta of 5 spectras second round.
its a dumb thing to do
the players with ghosts are dueling against deagles and ghost and its a 50 50
player with guardian can die to classic right click at close range and can even take a 50 50 duel against chamber headhunter
if everyone dies, the players with vandals are stuck in a 2v5 or 2v4 with the other team having one guardian and some ghosts and deagles which is a winable situation if they play their trades right
this is like the NRG light shields strat, it can work in the moment cuz no one notices but if its read, it generally wont work
FPX proved it's not a dumb thing to do when the pistols and spectres are taking the first fights, just like they would in normal 2nd rounds, and there's always somebody there with a rifle to trade them, so none of these fights are actually 50/50 from the get go.
They were converting stupid amounts of 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds because of this. Even if you "read" this, you always will have to face not only the player with the ghost/spectre, but also one of the rifles. With just a pistol there is just not a big chance you're going to be winning this. It's not even close to NRG half shield strat, there's a lot more nuance to it.
