tbh one of the biggest reasons i think they lost wasb't because they were overconfident, i think they really were just behind in meta. Trash talking is normal in games, also it brings in more viewership and attention to the specific esport. I also think shahz has too much on his plate. He coaches, he manages, he streams 12 hours a day. If they get a proper coach to take that off of their plate, they would be a lot better as a team. I also think that despite their losses this tournament, we still saw some amazingness come from them. They need a balance of individual plays and team plays, where as right now and how theyve been, they're very reliant on individual plays, then they end up getting outdueled.
Im excited for this Envy v Gambit game. Gambit probably gonna win especially with Nats like that but if Yay shows up in El Diablo form, it's gonna be one hell of a match
Gambit v Sentinels. SEN are down 0-2 after losing a close map 10-13. Zombs is distressed and he decides to take manners into his own hands. On the next 3 maps, he instalocks Jett and Reyna before TenZ even has a chance to load into the agent select screen. He then proceeds to drop 73 kills across 3 maps where he prevents the other team from getting more than 5 rounds on each game. He then retires from the scene to go play professional Project M, because he is just insane at every FPS.
GMB 3-1 NV, Gambit wins \o/
SEN, NV, GMB, Acend, VS, fnatic are the 6 teams that I kept track of to qualify for champions. Pretty sure Bren does with how I did my picks as well.
Edit: I'm no fortune teller or time traveller, but I was damn close - really didn't expect Gambit to take Haven when I made these picks (or even a coinflip decision to be made for who gets the map ban..)
Can't wait for champions where bo5s have so much more to play for with 7 maps.
I’m a huge Gambit fan and I think and hope they are going to win so all their hard work and growth pays off. Envy was my favorite of the three NA teams that made it to Berlin and I’m super glad that they had such astonishing run, They dethroned the king and took down 100T. Yay is very humble and Is such a nice guy. All I want to see is some great matches from both teams which I know we’re gonna get. Either result I’ll be content with.
Good luck to both teams!
Go Gambit ^^
Icebox: I have to give it to Gambit, the Envy icebox could pretty shaky against Vivo Keyd and KRU, although that could be LAN nerves. Gambit is also kind of inconsistent on the map though so there is definitely room for Envy to take it.
Haven: Envy are probably the best Haven team right now until SEN fix up Haven, while Gambit are not that great. Envy wins this one.
Bind: Gambit have a big advantage, Envy is good on bind but EMEA teams, especially Acend and Gambit, just look unstoppable on that map. This is also what we thought back in Iceland though when SEN beat FNC on Bind, so Envy has a small chance.
Ascent: Gambit look really good on Ascent, but Envy is great too. A 60-40 in favor of Gambit imo.
Split: Envy should most likely take this, their Split looked good against SEN while Gambit don't look too good, and lost to both 100T and VS.
Breeze: In theory Gambit win this, who knows if Envy have been practicing it at all or not since its their permaban.
I think there are two locks for Envy (Haven, Split) and two maps where Gambit are strong favorites on, Bind and Ascent. I think because Envy look so much better than Gambit on two maps Envy will take the series, their map pool minus Breeze is just so solid right now. Logically I think this will be a 3-1 or 3-2 for Envy, but with the momentum Envy has right now, I will pred Envy 3-0. So much of this will also come down to the veto, and whether Envy or Gambit gets the veto advantage. If I had to guess the veto would work like this:
Envy picks Haven (Envy win)
Gambit picks Breeze (Envy win in OT)
Envy picks Ascent (Envy win)
Gambit picks Bind
Envy picks Split
Today, a very important match. especially for the 100T and Fnatic teams. And, Maybe TSM.
Why? if Gambit wins, Fnatic will accompany Acend to qualify for the Valorant Champions. So, Gambit, Acend, and Fnatic will represent EMEA for Valorant Champions (Besides LCQ).
If Envy wins, 100T will accompany Sentinels to qualify for the Valorant Champions. So, Envy, Sentinels, and 100T will represent EMEA for Valorant Champions.
And, TSM, if Envy wins, TSM will have a chance to qualify for last chance Qualifier , and fight for 1 slot for Valorant Champions.
The prophecy is about to be fullfiled

I mean, i do know that, especially how CIS regions are being treated by EU in terms of real life and relationship
Actually, even how EU players treat CIS players lmao
CIS has nothing to do with EU, it is not about whether Russia is EU geography-wise
But they came through EU qualifiers, so it is a draw in this war, i guess
Of course it's the Russians who came up with the chess-like strats to simply out-think their opponent. The aim was crispy and all, but mainly NV just got strat diffed. Can't wait for the new, big-brain era of Valorant where players like nAts are valued over your typical instalock jett dash kill types.
All things considered, Envy did incredibly well. They got farther than anyone expected, and thought they would get ousted by SEN and 100T. Yay is a monster, Crashies, Marved and Victor are solid, and FNS has some big brain strats. Envy should be incredibly proud getting this far with a relatively new player, with their coach unable to go to Berlin with them and should keep their heads up for champions.
