why i think riot killed brazil and latam scene

so it's kinda obvious but brazil and latam never had a lot teams that could be a real conteder in a international titles - loud - kru - leviatan were the first ones to change that. And now all the biggest orgs players leaved brazil and latam to play in NA and while the whole NA ''tier 2'' will have the oportunity to practice with ''t1'' teams and be up to date with the game latam and brazil will be ''abandoned'' - i've been following both brazil and na challengers and both of them massive drop the numbers of viewers - i feel like the quality of the matches also dropped a lot. So in a long term it will be worst. For instace, in brazil we lost a lot of good orgs (nip, los grandes etc) and why these orgs would invest here in brazil if we have a poor interest in the t2 scene? if most of sponsors would rather invest in brazilians orgs that are playing in NA (better for them)...kinda sad..

to make it fair they sould each year change the vct - for instance next year it'll be held in mexico - in brazil etc.

actually on latam the quality of matches didnt changed much, the only exceptions of low quality here were kru and lev matches, but even now i see some teams with better fundamentals than on past years imo.

tbh 50k per year its too shitty for LA no?

#34

50k is minimum, mfs in NA orgs are probably paid like 10-15k+ per month and big brand players double that so i wouldn't worry too much

i mean mexico and brazil arent rural areas and is really important to get out of the bubble sometimes to grow up as a person

y las dificultades serian las mismas barreras de lengua cultura y demas
cambiar las sedes anualmente puede ser muy benefico para challegers de las 3 reguines y no solo para NA

bro no way you just said that XDDD....The quality of life in LA is closer to cities in El salvador than it is to every single developed city in europe and oceania

make the franchise between brazil and latam and north america with their own franchise.

The quality of training for teams in Latin America will definitely drop

#17

of course game quality has dropped in both challengers leagues, 50 of the best players are no longer participating because they are franchised.

keep in mind that t2 na teams have big streamers backing them up which is actually huge for the scene.

Changing the franchising host city isn't practical. We should have separate regions: North America and Latin America

Valorant is too small an esport for y'all to expect big metrics for the second division. Think of something more mainstream like NBA Vs D league basketball, the dropoff in money and viewership is also humongous. Same with hockey, same with just about any sport you can think of.

Sounds to me like you expect too much from a video game. It's hard to make people care about Exolo lazers Vs insert random latam team.

The interest is always at the top.

i think union plays well after watching the vods. also 9z looks really good. Probably long term might impact, but theres still talent, as not all top franchising orgs has idea of the potential of the new teams and players, and not everyone got the best players for their teams on their regions. I feel like in 1 or 2 years it will affect as the best teams are going to stay in NA and the best practice is gonna be there.

dont confuse viewership with quality, NA viewership is because of influencers like tarik carrying the scene. Even if t2 orgs in NA practise with t1 orgs - it doesnt automatically mean they will get better, also the number of teams getting out of ascension is the same. Added incentive for LATAM t2 players is that if they are insane, high paying NA orgs can buy them without worrying about imports.

hmmmm how about tier 2 br and latam teams move to NA to bootcamp every once in a while, would that be to unrealistic and expensive?

#41
AladdinINSANE

for most of the teams...yes..
keep in mind that we barely have any big orgs right now in the scene.
00 nation and red canids are the only ones that could afford doing bootcamp but even for red canids it would be expensive as hell.

oh well this might actually be bad for the region overall ig

good post, you'd be surprised how devious some of these companies get. counter strike tried to control bootcamping stuff like this but the EU orgs never supported it so NA got rolled since astralis era and now EU is stronger. So this kind of stuff definitely goes into some decisions.
