I'm playing on a 75Hz monitor... and I m currently at D2 .. I cant afford buying a 144HZ monitor
And Constantly losing 1v1 duels...
Is this the peak Rank I can go on this monitor ?
Any Advice for me ?
I will be honest, monitor refresh rate has probably the smallest effect on u compared to like skill.
It is very small difference, there is people who are like immortal/radiant with 60hz and bad fps (obviously its harder than if like 120hz with good fps) but refresh rate doesn’t have that much effect
60-144 is a big difference. But 144-240 not so much. People have this misconception that getting a better monitor will make you better. When I got my new monitor, I didn’t get better, just everything was smoother. I’d get a new mouse over monitor imo.
This guy is making a lot of excuses for him losing gun fights.
I’m just saying though that the monitor isn’t the reason you are bad or not lol. It’s certainly possible to get high ranks with a 60hz. I’ve done it, there are other people who have done it as well. It does make a difference, I said 60-144 is huge. If you can’t afford 144, 120 is the exact same as 144 when I was messing around with different hz. I have a 165 personally but I’ve used 240 and haven’t really noticed the difference between the two.
I believe so, I peaked at D2/D3 with 144hz. Decided to buy 240hz start of this year and I can clearly see myself winning a lot of duels which I normally wouldn't. Currently peeked at Immortal 2. Imo, it is very subjective, some people barely see the difference between 144 and 240, whereas I could see a significant difference, but I'm sure your gameplay will improve if you go for 144hz.
As I Said Before... I have seen my VODS of dying... and literally all of them were bcz of my late reaction and I have been playing this game from 2020 , I always clip the scene where I wanna know how I died ... not making excuses though ... i just wanna know how i can improve .. somethings are capped bcz of ones hardware but there are many things which could be done to improve and i wanna know those few things
I hit A+ back in 2017-2018 with 60hz which is objectively harder to hit than immortal from my experience. 60-144 is a big difference I won’t lie. But 60hz isn’t impossible to be good at the game or not win gun fights/have good aim. It’s just become an excuse. Improve your reaction time if it’s an issue.
Saying you're losing because of your monitor's refresh rate is pure cope, it's just your reaction time that is bad by what you're describing. Best way to improve is to stick to one role (seen in another comment that you say you flex which is the worst thing for trying to rank up). If you're losing proper gunfights - play like a rat, practice your aim or become a bigger brain player than you are right now.
I played 60Hz until I hit immortal a couple of acts ago and now I play 144Hz in the exact same rank. It had little to no effect on the way I play except I feel like my game is smoother and easier on my eyes
Hit A+ on esea back in 2017-2018 with a 60hz monitor. When I got a 144hz, don’t know if I necessarily got better. There is a difference no doubt, but aim wise my aim was still as good as before. It’s just the game was a lot smoother. I think you’re just scapegoating your monitor for you losing gun fights. Besides, Valorant isn’t very demanding on pure gun skill. Learn how to play around and predict abilities more and you’ll rank up.

After my journey to a different country and transitioning from PC to laptop. I confirmed the Hz doesn't matter to me but the size of the monitor does. When I was in Singapore I don't have a gaming laptop so I borrowed my friend's second pc and monitor to play. He lends me a 60hz 24inch monitor with a 1650&2600x pc. I managed to reach immortal 1 on sg server with that setup he lend me, yet when I moved back to my main setup back in my home country which is a 24inch 240hz monitor and 3700x 2070 pc I'm still a hard stuck immoral. Fast forward a couple of months, moved to Melbourne and since I can't bring my pc with me I bought a gaming laptop with a 144hz 15.3-inch monitor and a 11800h 3060 spec. Went down to asc the first month. Bought a cheap second-hand 60hz 24-inch monitor and went back to immortal the next week. FYI my peripheral is still the same on all 3 setups and that is an apex 7 keyboard and a rival 650. The only difference with my peripheral is my mouse switch since I changed them after it kept double-clicking.

You should not have a mindset that you are being held back by your pc specs.. Ik atleast 10 ppl who reached immo 1 on 60/75 hz, and from my experience the only problem I had on a 60hz setup were frame drops.. Obviously it is possible that you have different skill ceiling but i still think that with practice you can reach atleast asc/imm. If you have any doubts, feel free to dm me as i was in a similar position few months back
Hello, im an immortal player that's still on 60hz :) but Ascendant 3 rn since busy with school. I still consistently mvp my matches tho with 30+% HS% and 160 ADR.
